Report from IPHC DRUSA Coordinator, Bill Terry<\/em><\/p>\n

The North Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen<\/a> has now been deployed to West Virginia for just over one week. Just over the 3-day holiday weekend, we had the privilege of serving well over 2500 meals. However, earlier this morning, Gordon Knox reported that feeding is beginning to slow as residents are returning to their homes to begin the clean-up process.<\/p>\n

On behalf of Disaster Relief USA (DRUSA), I would like to express our deepest appreciation to all of the volunteers who gave of their time during the last week, particularly over the holiday. Thank you for a job well done!<\/p>\n

The DRUSA office is continuing to monitor the deployment in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. We will continue to provide you with updates in regard to how much longer the North Carolina Kitchen will remain on location as well as the needs in the area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

DRUSA AND PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER ASSISTANCE, part 2<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Last week, we shared the story of a phone call from Phillip W. Darby, National Response Team Member for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. In that phone call, Darby explained how his team was on a clean-up assignment at a Pentecostal church in Caldwell, West Virginia that was destroyed by the flood waters. I asked Darby if the church was a “Pentecostal Holiness Church,” and he responded that it was just a Pentecostal church.<\/p>\n

As he continued to share the story, he expressed how a member of the church had told their team that all of their Bibles and hymnals had been ruined. Darby relayed a request to me for 50 Bibles and 50 hymnals. Without hesitation, I committed the funds for the church.<\/p>\n

Since that report, there has been an update. Darby and his team had been working at the Caldwell Pentecostal Holiness Church. They were the ones who made the plea for Bibles and hymnals. Today, the order was placed for new Bibles and hymnals to be shipped to Caldwell PH Church.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Report from the Golden West Conference: Bill Kenedy, DRUSA Coordinator, and Billy Woods, M25 Coordinator<\/em><\/p>\n

On Friday, we had reported that the fire near Lake Isabella would be contained by Tuesday. According to the California Statewide Fire Map<\/a>, the fire is now 95% contained. The Golden West Conference Disaster Relief ministry reported that teams led by Billy Woods, M25 coordinator, have moved in and are assisting individuals and families with clean-up and recovery in and around the communities of Lake Isabella.<\/p>\n

Woods stated, “It is awesome to see the community of faith partnering together to help people in the devastated areas.” The disaster relief and recovery process is going to be a long one. Billy Woods, and DRUSA Coordinator Bill Kenedy, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to DRUSA and its supporters. Thank you!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
