  1. Timing is everything<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    GET ON THAT CLICK!!! Sorry for yelling, but too many times I see drummers that are too busy twirling their sticks and trying to make themselves look the part. Being a good drummer and having good timing go hand in hand. Metronomes can be expensive, but luckily there is an app for that. Check out the app store on your phone or tablet and start practicing with the click.<\/p>\n

    1. Less is more<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Being a flashy drummer is good if you know how to use it. Keeping it simple on drums doesn\u2019t make you a boring drummer, it makes you a smart drummer. Sometimes you just need to establish a solid beat and begin to add fills when necessary. Drummers that have good dynamics always have favor with listeners.<\/p>\n

      1. Make yourself at home<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        This is tip that is especially helpful in competitions. This happens more times than you think. Your name is called and you get in a hurry trying to setup your kit, plus your nerves don\u2019t make anything easier. The tip is to make sure that you\u2019re comfortable on your kit. You always play better when you feel comfortable. I would suggest setting up your kit a few times prior to competition so you\u2019ll know how long it takes and what challenges you may face. So my advice to you is: take a breath and make yourself at home.<\/p>\n

        1. Map it Out<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          It\u2019s important to know where you\u2019re going when you drum. No matter what the occasion it\u2019s important to have a plan of what you\u2019re going to do each time that you play. God has given you a great gift as a musician. Be prepared each time that you play and know where you\u2019re going.<\/p>\n

          1. Get creative<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Being a well-rounded drummer will get you the opportunities that you never thought were possible. Unfortunately, at competitions we tend to see the same old 4\/4 rock beat that just turns into noise by the 5th<\/sup> drummer. Be different. Incorporate different genres into your performance. Yo sugerir\u00eda que la configuraci\u00f3n de su kit un par de veces antes de la competici\u00f3n para saber cu\u00e1nto tiempo se necesita y qu\u00e9 retos que puede enfrentar. As\u00ed que mi consejo es: tomar una respiraci\u00f3n y sentirse como en casa.

No importa cu\u00e1l sea la ocasi\u00f3n que es importante tener un plan de lo que va a hacer cada vez que se juega. Dios le ha dado un gran regalo como m\u00fasico. Est\u00e9 preparado cada vez que se juega y sabe a d\u00f3nde va.
