Differentiate in your building from scene to scene. Not all scenes require building. However, if you don\u2019t build in at least 3-4 scenes, it becomes an interpretative drama.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transitions<\/strong>&#8211; Make changing scenes dynamic and smooth. If you \u201cflip\u201d to change from the first to the second scene, use a different transition for the next. Do not be repetitive in your transitions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facial Expression<\/strong>&#8211; Make the audience laugh with you. Make them cry with you. If the judges can\u2019t \u201cfeel\u201d your emotions, then neither will the audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attire<\/strong>&#8211; Make sure your attire is neat, clean, pressed, and conveys the character(s) if needed. Attire should not be too tight or revealing. If you are not comfortable in what you are wearing, it will show. You should never allow your shirt to come up to show your mid section. Hair should be pulled up off of the face, and shirts should not be \u201cpulled\u201d down during your performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Movements<\/strong> <strong>and music<\/strong>&#8211; Your movements should be able to tell the story, even if the CD isn\u2019t playing. Tell a story. Have a story line that has a beginning, climaxed middle and dynamic ending. The music should reflect this.<\/p>\n<p>Even though this is a competition, it should be a ministry first. Always remember that what you do on stage reflects who your heart belongs to.
