{"id":3044,"date":"2017-06-30T14:54:28","date_gmt":"2017-06-30T14:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/discipleship\/?p=3044"},"modified":"2019-05-16T15:33:55","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T20:33:55","slug":"5-tips-ensure-success-vocal-category","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/discipleship\/2017\/06\/30\/5-tips-ensure-success-vocal-category\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Tips to Ensure Success in the Vocal Category"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Song Choice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is one of the biggest factors in making sure your performance is as successful as possible!\u00a0 It can make or break how your performance is judged.\u00a0 Try not to go with a song that has a high chance of someone else also choosing it.\u00a0 Know your strengths and range within your voice.\u00a0 Do you have an awesome low range? Show it off!\u00a0 Choose a song in which you are comfortable with hitting all of the notes.\u00a0 If it is not happening at practice, it most likely will not come out on stage (especially when the nerves kick in!).\u00a0 Choose a song that has a message that personally relates to you.\u00a0 It will show in your performance!\u00a0 Do not just choose a popular worship song. \u00a0Choose something that let\u2019s you minister AND show off your vocal ability at the same time.\u00a0 After all\u2026 That\u2019s what you\u2019re being judged on!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch\/Video Yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Watching yourself in the mirror and videoing yourself will help you attain a good stage presence (which is a section that you are judged on!).\u00a0 I never realized until I watched a video of myself years back that I would pass the microphone back and forth between my hands excessively.\u00a0 This could definitely be distracting!\u00a0 You want to make sure that none of your movements (that you may not even realize you\u2019re doing) are going to distract the audience from the message you want them to receive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gain Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any opportunity that you have to be on stage, do it!\u00a0 This will help you get more comfortable with being up there.\u00a0 The more you do it, the more natural it feels.\u00a0 I am positive that if you were to ask the leaders in your church to be more a part of the music ministry, they would love it!\u00a0 Even being a part of the choir is being on stage, and makes you aware of how you are presenting yourself to the audience without having to be by yourself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warm Up<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to make sure you sing with the best tone quality, pitch, and diction, WARM UP YOUR VOICE!\u00a0 This will prevent straining, cracking, and damaging your vocal chords.\u00a0 You can do this with simple lip trills (buzzing your lips), starting low and going up, and then repeat.\u00a0 This is an easy warm-up that really gets your vocal chords going.\u00a0 You can also do 5 note scales (pentascales) going up and back down on different sounds like \u201cbee-ya.\u201d\u00a0 A warm-up to get your lips ready to say all of the words is saying the words \u201cMe May Me My Me Mo Me Moo.\u201d Do this 3 times in a row.\u00a0 Just make sure you warm up your voice around 15 minutes before you perform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Engage the Audience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Okay, so now you have picked a great song for YOU, watched videos of yourself, gotten more comfortable being on stage, and warmed your voice up.\u00a0 Say a prayer, it\u2019s time to roll! Elegir algo que te permite ministro y mostrar su capacidad vocal al mismo tiempo. Despu\u00e9s de todo ... Eso es lo que est\u00e1 siendo juzgado en! <strong>Reloj \/ video usted mismo<\/strong> mir\u00e1ndose en el espejo y grabar en video s\u00ed mismo le ayudar\u00e1 a lograr una buena presencia en el escenario (que es una secci\u00f3n que le juzgan sobre!). Nunca me di cuenta hasta que vi un video de m\u00ed mismo a\u00f1os atr\u00e1s que iba a pasar el micr\u00f3fono de ida y vuelta entre mis manos excesivamente. Esto sin duda podr\u00eda ser una distracci\u00f3n! Usted quiere asegurarse de que ninguno de sus movimientos (que es probable que no se dan cuenta de que est\u00e1 haciendo) van a distraer a la audiencia del mensaje que quieres que reciba. <strong>Estar en el escenario tanto como sea posible<\/strong> Cualquier oportunidad que tienes que estar en el escenario, lo hace! Esto evitar\u00e1 que el esfuerzo, grietas y da\u00f1os en las cuerdas vocales. Usted puede hacer esto con trinos de labios simples (zumbido de los labios), a partir de baja y subiendo, y se repetir\u00e1. Esta es una herramienta f\u00e1cil de calentamiento que realmente consigue sus cuerdas vocales en marcha. Tambi\u00e9n se puede hacer 5 escalas de notas (pentascales) yendo hacia arriba y hacia abajo en diferentes sonidos como \u201cabeja-ya.\u201d Un calentamiento para obtener sus labios listos para decir todas las palabras est\u00e1 diciendo las palabras \u201cMe pueden presentar Me My Me Mo me MOO.\u201dHaga esto 3 veces seguidas. S\u00f3lo aseg\u00farese de que se caliente la voz alrededor de 15 minutos antes de realizar. <strong>Atraer a la audiencia<\/strong> Bien, ahora que usted ha escogido una gran canci\u00f3n para ti, visto videos de ti mismo, metido m\u00e1s c\u00f3modo estar en el escenario, y se calienta hasta su voz. Decir una oraci\u00f3n, es el momento de rodar! Durante su funcionamiento, atraer a la audiencia con sus ojos, y el lenguaje corporal facial. \u00bfQuieres servir a ellos, as\u00ed que realmente llamar su atenci\u00f3n. Deja que demostrar que su canci\u00f3n tiene un mensaje que desea compartir! Deja que Dios sea levantado en su rendimiento. El p\u00fablico va a sentir su sinceridad. En todo esto, deja que Dios sea el centro y \u00c9l le ayudar\u00e1 a ser exitoso.
