Discipleship Ministries is pleased to announce Dr. Amy Hanson as the IPHC Older Adult Ministries Consultant!<\/p>\n
Dr. Amy Hanson leads a speaking, writing, and consulting ministry that equips the church for ministry with the new old. She is the author of the book, Baby Boomers and Beyond: Tapping the Ministry Talents and Passions of Adults over 50 <\/em>and she regularly teaches gerontology courses to college students.\u00a0 Amy lives with her family in Council Bluffs, IA. You can read more about her ministry, and follow her blog at www.amyhanson.org<\/a><\/p>\n Never before in history have so many adults moved into their later years of life with so much health and vitality.\u00a0 Pew Research Center<\/a>\u00a0<\/sup>reports that 10,000 adults are turning 65 each day and that in less then 15 years, almost 20% of our population will be over the age of 65. This unprecedented growth of the older adult population creates great opportunities for ministry.\u00a0 How do we best respond?<\/p>\n \u201cOver twenty-five years ago, God began stirring in me a desire to help older adults live out their lives with meaning and purpose.\u00a0 I believed then what I believe with even more fervor today:\u00a0\u00a0 everyone is valuable to God and we can all make our lives count for eternity.\u00a0 This is why I am thrilled that the International Pentecostal Holiness Church is committed to inspiring, equipping, and supporting ALL generations as we seek to glorify Christ, including those in the “second half of life”.
