Now More Than Ever<\/strong>

I believe we live in a time where the importance of sound doctrine is more critical than any other time in history!\u00a0 The culture we live in is calling wrong right and right wrong. We are warned of this very thing:\u00a0 <\/sup>\u00a0<\/em>For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;\u00a0<\/sup>and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables\u201d (2 Timothy 4:3-4).<\/p>\n

I think we all have experienced seeing people who go from person to person, pastor to pastor, church to church or counselor to counselor looking for someone to agree with them. They are not seeking the truth, they just want someone to agree with them. The warning in the Bible is very clear!<\/p>\n

\u201cWoe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
\nWho put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
\nWho put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!\u201d (Isaiah 5:20)<\/p>\n

It is so vital that we spread the gospel the way it was written and in the context in which it was written. If we do not, we are in danger of leading ourselves and others astray. Let\u2019s compare this simple truth to working a long division math problem. If you do not apply the foundational truths of mathematics throughout the whole equation, then you will not be able to solve the problem. Now, compare this to the Word of God! It is one thing to know the Word, but we only benefit when we apply it exactly how it was written and in the context in which it was written.<\/p>\n

I was teaching a Bible study in a forensic unit on the importance of applying the word of God to your life. I told them to picture someone who was given the job of working in a garden all day. They were given all the necessary tools to accomplish the task at hand. In addition to the tools, they were given a bottle of suntan lotion. They had the suntan lotion in their back pocket all day but neglected to apply it, so they were severely sunburnt. May we always apply sound doctrine in every area of our lives!<\/p>\n

Sound doctrine is extremely important because our beliefs affect our actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you\u201d (1 Timothy 4:16).<\/p>\n

There are many benefits to understanding and applying sound doctrine to our lives, but I will list just a few of them:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Instructions in Righteousness<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Complete & thoroughly equipped for every good work<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You will be saved, and those who hear you will be saved<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We are cleansed<\/p>\n

\u201cAll Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a<\/a>]instruction in righteousness, 17\u00a0that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work\u201d (2 Timothy 3:16-17).<\/p>\n

Estamos advertidos de esto mismo: \u00a0 <\/sup><\/em> Porque llegar\u00e1 el momento en que no soportar\u00e1n la sana doctrina, sino seg\u00fan sus propios deseos, porque tienen orejas que pican, se apilar\u00e1n para s\u00ed mismos como maestros; \u00a0<\/sup> y apartar\u00e1n sus o\u00eddos de la verdad, y se volver\u00e1n a las f\u00e1bulas "(2 Timoteo 4: 3-4). Creo que todos hemos experimentado ver a personas que van de persona a persona, de pastor a pastor, de iglesia a iglesia o de consejero a consejero en busca de alguien que est\u00e9 de acuerdo con ellos. No est\u00e1n buscando la verdad, solo quieren que alguien est\u00e9 de acuerdo con ellos. \u00a1La advertencia en la Biblia es muy clara! \u201c\u00a1Ay de los que llaman mal al bien y mal al bien! Quien puso oscuridad por luz, y luz por oscuridad; \u00a1Quien pone amargo por dulce, y dulce por amargo! \u201d(Isa\u00edas 5:20) Es tan vital que difundamos el evangelio de la manera en que fue escrito y en el contexto en el que fue escrito. Si no lo hacemos, corremos el peligro de desviarnos y desviarnos de los dem\u00e1s. Comparemos esta simple verdad con un problema matem\u00e1tico de divisi\u00f3n larga. Si no aplica las verdades fundamentales de las matem\u00e1ticas en toda la ecuaci\u00f3n, entonces no podr\u00e1 resolver el problema. Ahora, compara esto con la Palabra de Dios! Una cosa es conocer la Palabra, pero solo nos beneficiamos cuando la aplicamos exactamente como se escribi\u00f3 y en el contexto en el que se escribi\u00f3. Estaba ense\u00f1ando un estudio b\u00edblico en una unidad forense sobre la importancia de aplicar la palabra de Dios a tu vida. Les dije que se imaginen a alguien a quien se le dio el trabajo de trabajar en un jard\u00edn todo el d\u00eda. Se les dieron todas las herramientas necesarias para realizar la tarea en cuesti\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s de las herramientas, se les dio una botella de bronceador. Ten\u00edan la loci\u00f3n bronceadora en el bolsillo trasero todo el d\u00eda, pero se negaron a aplicarla, por lo que sufrieron graves quemaduras solares. \u00a1Que siempre apliquemos la sana doctrina en cada \u00e1rea de nuestras vidas! La sana doctrina es extremadamente importante porque nuestras creencias afectan nuestras acciones. \u201cCu\u00eddate a ti mismo ya la doctrina. Contin\u00faa en ellos, porque al hacer esto, te salvar\u00e1s a ti mismo ya los que te escuchan \u201d(1 Timoteo 4:16). Hay muchos beneficios para entender y aplicar la sana doctrina a nuestras vidas, pero enumerar\u00e9 solo algunos de ellos: 1. Instrucciones en justicia 2. Completo y completamente equipado para cada buen trabajo 3. Ser\u00e1s salvo, y aquellos que escuchen ser\u00e1s salvo 4.
