The last day of YouthQuest started off with a powerful Gathering. The Well led the congregation in worship. This time was followed by a time of prayer led by Dr. Lou Shirey, Director of Clergy Development & World Intercession Network. Shirey called the Gathering to prayer for increased testimony of the manifest presence of God.<\/p>\n
Pastor Stephen Jones preached a challenging sermon centered around the themes of justice and loving your neighbor. <\/p>\n
Using the story of Matthew\u2019s call in Matthew 9:9-13, Jones challenged the audience with this question, \u201cDo I identify more with Jesus or do I identify more with the religious leaders who thought they knew what Jesus wanted?\u201d To hear Stephen Jones\u2019 full sermon, click here<\/a>. Bishop Thomas H. McGhee, Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries, led YouthQuest in Holy Communion after the sermon.<\/p>\n The Fine Arts Festival wrapped up Tuesday afternoon as students participated in human videos, instrumentals, three-dimensional art, and fabricated art.<\/p>\n Later Tuesday night, YouthQuest presented their 7th Annual Fine Arts Festival Awards Show: \u201cNeon: A Love that Lights the World.\u201d This year, YouthQuest had 170 students participate in the #YQCollaborative of the Awards Show. This year’s Collaborative involved four components: dance, drama, singing, and painting. It was a phenomenal success!<\/p>\n The Awards Show was hosted by former IPHC Talent participants, Johnny Bland and Tara Light. Congratulations to all the winners of this year\u2019s Fine Arts Festival. Discipleship Ministries also wants to say congratulations to all the participants this year. We are proud of you.
