On Monday morning, YouthQuest opened the #YQGathering with worship from The Well. SMAT member, Josh Lafferty, preached a compelling message from the story of Samson about the importance of vows and how they serve as the \u201crule\u201d of our lives. Lafferty urged the audience, \u201cWhen emotions will fail you, when passions will fail you, renew your vow to the cross every day to sustain your relationship with Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n
Attendees were again invited to participate in #YQSessions. With Worship and Missions being offered again, attendees had the chance to also attend classes on relationships, apologetics, and the next steps of faith.<\/p>\n
During the morning Gathering, Gold Sponsor, Southwestern Christian University, shared about the exciting things happening at SWCU, and the opportunities students had to learn more about the university. It was full of female vocal solos, a cappella, audible drama, human video, instrumental solos, as well as photography and graphic design.<\/p>\n Later that night, YouthQuest joined together again for the evening service. Gold Sponsor, Emmanuel College, shared about the work God is doing on their campus, and the many ways that God has blessed their school. They also shared about the Homecoming celebration coming up this October to commemorate Emmanuel\u2019s 100th birthday. After two memorable services, the room was packed and buzzing when he took the stage. He preached a message out of 2 Timothy that centered around Paul\u2019s exhortation to Timothy to \u201cguard what was given to him\u201d and to remain faithful by the power of the Holy Spirit. He challenged the audience not to lose their first love. He called some forward to pray for God to keep their spark alive. For others, he prayed that God would re-ignite their fire. This Awards Show opening performance features students in attendance at #YQ19. These students learn everything during the week of YouthQuest. In three night-time rehearsals, students in the choir, human video, and dance components learn their parts and perform them together on the final night of YouthQuest. This has proven to be a highlight of the event.
