IPHC Women's Ministries has made a historic request regarding the directorship of their ministry. Whitney Davis has been the current Women's Ministries Director since 2018 and has led IPHC Women's Ministries in a fresh vision with a renewed sense of purpose during that time. Recently Whitney and her husband, Brad Davis, were given the opportunity to step into full-time, local ministry pastoring Living Word Church, part of the Cornerstone Conference.<\/strong><\/h1>\n

\"We are so proud of Brad and Whitney. The Davis' are an exceptional family with a true heart for serving the local church\", says Bishop Tommy McGhee, Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries. \"Brad has been a key leader at Southwestern Christian University as Vice President of Student Services, and Whitney has been highly influential in her role, not only as director of Women's Ministries but also as a team member in Discipleship Ministries. We will miss having them in Oklahoma City but we pray for them in their new role in North Carolina.\"<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As a result of their decision, the Women's Ministries Board met to discuss the future of Women's Ministries. According to the WM bylaws, the director of Women's Ministries is required to reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to fulfill her duties. The WM Board agreed unanimously to request a temporary exception to this requirement, and Whitney indicated her willingness to continue in her position should she be allowed to work remotely.<\/h2>\n

\"If COVID has taught us anything, it is that our world is changing and we must be willing to adapt\", Erica Campbell, WM Board Secretary stated. \"We are concerned about a loss of\u00a0 forward momentum in our ministry if this role is vacated at this time, and we believe Whitney can continue the success she began in Oklahoma City in her new home in North Carolina.\"<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Board officially made a request to the Executive Committee of the Council of Bishops that the Women's Ministries Director be approved to operate outside of the General Women's Ministries Office at the GMC in Oklahoma City until the Women's Convention, scheduled for July at General Conference.<\/h2>\n

After discussion, the following motion was adopted by the ECCOB: ...\"The ECCOB approves an exception to the Bylaws giving the Director of Women\u2019s Ministries the privilege of continuing to serve at the pleasure of the Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries in a part-time capacity [with full benefits] while \u2018residing outside of the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area and not performing services at the GMC\u2019 until the General Women\u2019s Ministries Convention, July 2022.\u00a0 The Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries, in consultation with the GMC Director of Human Resources, will develop the expectations\/responsibilities associated with this exception.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue partnering with Discipleship Ministries in leading the women of the IPHC through our family\u2019s transition to North Carolina,\" says Whitney Davis. \"Brad and I are confident the Lord has led us into this season. The discipleship of women continues to be my passion, and I can\u2019t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the IPHC women.\"
