RETREAT FOR HISPANIC BISHOPS, HISPANIC LEADERS, HISPANIC DIRECTORS, AND HISPANIC COORDINATORS <\/u><\/p>\n
IPHC HISPANIC MINISTRIES <\/u><\/p>\n
A wonderful experience in a challenging environment!<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\nTo all Directors, Coordinators and Bishops of the Hispanic Ministries.<\/p>\n
As we all know, last week (June 8-10) in Oklahoma City, we conducted a retreat for the very first time.\u00a0 This retreat was to cast visions, to train and to have prayer among the leaders.\u00a0 These leaders hold different roles of direction and guidance in the Hispanic Ministries within their Conferences.<\/p>\n
We had around 26 people attending; Directors, Bishops and of course some of their beautiful wives. Most of them came from different parts of the country. On Monday night we began with a powerful message brought to us by our Presiding Bishop, Dr. Beacham. It was a challenging message to get our next generations ready to hold their ground and to continue with God\u00b4s work for the present and the future.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday morning, we received the themes from Bishop Chris Thompson, Rev. Luis Avila and Rev. Ali Pacheco who shared, \u201cThe estate of the Church in USA\u201d, \u201cTo reach and generations\u201d and \u201cConnecting generations with the local Church\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday afternoon, Brother Max Barroso spoke on, \u201cConnection and comprehension with the emerging generation\u201d, \u201cCharacteristics of an effective laboring pastor or guiding pastor\u201d by Rev. Fernando Angulo and \u201cHow to work with American Bishops for the development and growth of the Hispanic Ministry\u201d by Bishop David Avila.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday morning, we finalized with communion and the following topics \u201cTeamwork to lead a Hispanic Ministry in USA\u201d by Rev. Freyman Valdez and \u201cThe Pastor and ongoing challenges\u201d by Rev. Ali Pacheco.<\/p>\n
We\u00b4ve combined all of our sessions with group Prayer time followed by discussions about the topics taught.\u00a0 Such dynamics were very fruitful since it offered the opportunity for deep interaction, gained knowledge, enriched by the various opinions, prayer and ideas from each participant.<\/p>\n
God\u00b4s presence was at Work very strongly.\u00a0 The topics, fellowship, resources, encouragement and knowledge helped us to get a much better perspective on how to do our job better with the pastors and churches within the Hispanic Ministries.<\/p>\n
The Lord blessed us so much that the participants expressed the wish to continue with this kind of event every year.\u00a0 This helps to fortify, learn, interact, and to have mutual support. \u00a0All of us were highly encouraged, motivated, and lifted up to do the Lord\u00b4s work in the present and in the future of our conferences.<\/p>\n
The testimonials and words from all attending leaders were very substantial about how God has blessed them and how important is to have this kind of gatherings more often.<\/p>\n

- The time to fellowship and freedom<\/li>\n
- The time, life experiences, and opportunities<\/li>\n
- The integration between Bishops, Pastors and Ministers<\/li>\n
- The communion between us helped us to get to know each other at a personal level, our daily jobs, different ministries and places where each of us are serving<\/li>\n
- The opportunity to gather together in this retreat to fellowship and seek God\u00b4s will<\/li>\n
- The spiritual unity and the opportunity to get refreshed together<\/li>\n
- The teachings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
All of these comments were very uplifting and of course a great indicator from God to continue doing such retreats.\u00a0 These retreats can bless the life and leadership of all of those leading Hispanic Ministries in every corner of this nation.<\/p>\n
