The Mid-Atlantic Annual Conference Session was convened on September 10 at the Kingsway Christian Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The House of Prayer Maranatha Praise Team led in a song of worship and prayer was offered by Rev. Nelson Amaya. Ms. Marysol Martinez reported on her role as the director of Royal Home Ministries. Her passion and vision is evident as she speaks about this special ministry. Chaplain Jerry Jones and Chaplain Jamil Khan reported on the work of Chaplain’s Ministries. The IPHC is represented by many outstanding chaplains and seeks to work with other candidates who feel called to enter this area of ministry and service to our country.<\/p>\n
Bishop Abel Palomo introduced me as the presiding officer for the day\u2019s session. I was blessed to share Scripture and presentation on our core value, \u201cWe Prayerfully Value Holiness\u201d. Bishop Palomo led the conference in giving special recognition to Mrs. Janice Russ upon her retirement as the conference bookkeeper after many years of service. Janice is the wife of former Superintendent Wesley Russ. Churches and individuals brought gifts to present to Mrs. Russ who has been fighting a valiant battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
Missionary reports were shared by Van Bloss and Vijay Balla as to their respective ministries.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ron White, president of Emmanuel College reported on the progress and needs of the college. President White spoke of God\u2019s faithfulness and his many answers to prayer on behalf of Emmanuel College.<\/p>\n
The conference viewed an impressive video presentation on the ongoing success of Holmes Bible College under the leadership of Bishop James Leggett.<\/p>\n
The conference Examining Committee reported on their recommendations for one Local Ministers Certificate, one Chaplain\u2019s License, two Minsters Licenses and four Ordination Certificates. I am thankful for the honor of leading in the ordination service and the laying on of hands for these affirmed candidates.<\/p>\n
Bishop Abel Palomo led in the receiving of a special offering for the IPHC Disaster Relief USA ministry.<\/p>\n
Bishop Palomo gave his \u201cState of the Conference\u201d report. He shared his thanks for the help of the Lord and for the people of the Mid-Atlantic Conference. He also spoke of his hope and vision for the future of this diverse conference as they continue to focus on church planting as a primary strategy for reaching more people with the gospel.<\/p>\n
It was also my privilege to preach the next day at our church in College Park, Maryland. Pastor Ben Spearman was gracious to allow me to minister in the 11:00 service and Bishop Abel Palomo invited me to preach in the 3:00 p.m. service to the Latino church which he pastors. Pray for this conference that is so strategically located in this great metropolitan area.<\/p>\n
