{"id":1060,"date":"2016-10-27T16:26:20","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T16:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/?p=1060"},"modified":"2016-10-27T16:28:32","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T16:28:32","slug":"redemption-ministries-2016-conference-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/2016\/10\/27\/redemption-ministries-2016-conference-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Redemption Ministries 2016 Conference Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was my honor and privilege to preside over the Annual Conference of Redemption Ministries for 2016.\u00a0 We met at the Upward Church in Norfolk, VA.\u00a0 The church is pastored by Rev. Craig Walker.\u00a0 The Conference was excellent and well attended.\u00a0 Some 73 clergy delegates were present with a total attendance of 193.<\/p>\n<p>We began the day with fellowship and continental breakfast.\u00a0 We assembled at 9am and concluded around 4:30 p.m.\u00a0 This was one of the best organized conferences that I have seen in years.\u00a0 Secretary Bonnie Conrad works well with Bishop Dayton Birt to make it so.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Conference Executive Council, several special guests were recognized.\u00a0 These were:<\/p>\n<p>Brian Kluth \u2013 Minister and Author<\/p>\n<p>Marysol Martinez \u2013 Director of the Royal Home Ministries in Falcon, N.C.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ron White \u2013 Emmanuel College President<\/p>\n<p>Brian James \u2013 Vice President for Development, Emmanuel College<\/p>\n<p>Garry Bryant \u2013 Former Conference Superintendent and Assistant Director of EVUSA<\/p>\n<p>Dreama Bryant \u2013 World Missions Ministries<\/p>\n<p>Garryt Bryant \u2013 EVUSA, Next-Gen Advisor<\/p>\n<p>Bob Lynch \u2013 Retired Chaplain, IPHC, USAF<\/p>\n<p>Craig Walker \u2013 Former Missionary, China, National EVUSA Council Member<\/p>\n<p>Hans Hess \u2013 National EVUSA Council Member<\/p>\n<p>Rupert George \u2013 National African American Board Member<\/p>\n<p>After a welcome by Pastor Craig Walker and a time of praise and worship, Assistant Superintendent Chuck Davis presented the Credentials Report.\u00a0 The report was as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ordination:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dwight Leon Dunning, Jr.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>License:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garryt Edward Bryant<\/p>\n<p>Sophia Loren George<\/p>\n<p>Elias Rojas<\/p>\n<p>Sergio Aroldo Vasquez Romero<\/p>\n<p>The report was adopted.\u00a0 I gave a charge to those licensed and Bishop Birt presented them their license.\u00a0 Later in the day I preached a short ordination message and ordained brother Dunning.<\/p>\n<p>The credentials time was very special for me.\u00a0 I went to school with the parents of the young man ordained and knew his grandparents.\u00a0 Two of the license candidates are known, loved and appreciated \u2013 Garryt and Sophia.\u00a0 Garryt works part-time with EVUSA. His dad is my assistant.\u00a0 Sophia is the wife of Pastor Rupert George who serves on the African-American Board.\u00a0 It was a special day for me.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Dayton Birt gave an excellent report and challenge to the conference.\u00a0 He started with \u201cAre we there yet?\u201d and \u201cYou are here!\u201d\u00a0 He emphasized where the conference was going and listed strategies to accomplish the goal.\u00a0 His material was excellent.\u00a0 He spoke from Zechariah 8:20 and declared that \u201cmany peoples and inhabitants of many cities will \u2018yet\u2019 come!\u201d\u00a0 His \u201cstate of the conference\u201d was well received.<\/p>\n<p>Several new church planters were recognized along with some from the past.\u00a0 I gave all of them a church planter\u2019s pin.\u00a0 The stage was full!\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n<p>The finance report was read by Treasurer Kenny Lawhorne.\u00a0 The conference has had a recent improvement in finances.\u00a0 Pastor Han Hess led a PowerPoint for memoirs.\u00a0 Several very special people were recognized.<\/p>\n<p>Just before lunch, former superintendent Garry Bryant lead the conference in communion.\u00a0 A special time of prayer followed with emphasis on the prophetic led by the WIN Director Roger Stables.\u00a0 The Lord was present.<\/p>\n<p>After a delicious lunch of chicken etc., several speakers were presented.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Thompson \u2013 Holiness Theme<\/p>\n<p>Royal Home Ministries \u2013 Marysol Martinez<\/p>\n<p>Discipleship Video \u2013 Crisman White<\/p>\n<p>Brian Kluth \u2013 Church\/Minister Financial Health<\/p>\n<p>All the speakers were well received.<\/p>\n<p>Missions Director Brian Sawyer gave an excellent presentation on the annual Global Outreach Offering.\u00a0 An offering was received.\u00a0 At this writing the amount is not known.\u00a0 The Conference is making a special thrust for the offering.\u00a0 Fountain of Life, Han Hess, has pledged $35,000.00.\u00a0 Wow and Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n<p>It was a long day but blessed and filled with the presence of the Lord.\u00a0 I believe everyone left having been challenged, encouraged and motivated.\u00a0 I know I was.<\/p>\n<p>I stayed over and preached twice on Sunday morning at Carpenter\u2019s House in Virginia Beach (Pastor Mark Bailey) and Fountain of Life, Elizabeth City (Pastor Hans Hess) in the evening.\u00a0 These are powerful churches.\u00a0 I was honored to speak.\u00a0 These are anointed pastors.<\/p>\n<p>God is at work in Redemption!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Bishop\u00a0Chris D.
