Chris Thompson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was so blessed to attend part of the Sonshine Camp Meeting and to preside over the 2017 Annual Conference, June 23, 2017.\u00a0 That one makes nearly 60 for me.\u00a0 I do enjoy the annual conferences.\u00a0 This one was certainly one of my favorites.<\/p>\n<p>I arrived early enough to hear the preaching of Bishop Tony Miller on Thursday.\u00a0 He was in good form. The praise and worship by Dave and Jennifer Ragan was awesome.\u00a0 Bishop Ray Willis is gifted in leading camp meeting services.\u00a0 During the service, Bishop Ray had pastors bring county soil samples and the regional directors prayed over the soil.\u00a0 It was a phenomenal time in the Lord.\u00a0 The conference was preparing for a similar event on the Friday night of General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>During the day on Thursday, Brian James represented Emmanuel College.\u00a0 He did an excellent job.\u00a0 I shared a few words about Holmes Bible College on Friday.\u00a0 Every time I speak I get more excited about the school.\u00a0\u00a0 Emmanuel and Holmes are doing an excellent job in training youth for the future.<\/p>\n<p>As the Conference began, I spoke on the 2017 theme, \u201cWe Prayerfully Value Christ\u2019s Kingdom\u201d and gave a short devotion on how generations relate to Christ\u2019s kingdom.\u00a0 Both were well received.<\/p>\n<p>Various departmental leaders gave reports \u2013 Discipleship, Missions and Financial.\u00a0 These were given with much enthusiasm and the people responded accordingly.\u00a0 Over 70 delegates were present for the morning Conference.\u00a0 In the evening services, over 300 attended.\u00a0 The conference has 106 churches with new churches being planted regularly.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Orren Simpson gave the Memoirs Report.\u00a0 Seven individuals were mentioned:<\/p>\n<p>James Edward (Jake) Anderson<\/p>\n<p>Juanita George Bearry<\/p>\n<p>George Edward Lewis<\/p>\n<p>Edward Arthur MacDonald<\/p>\n<p>Ted Pressley<\/p>\n<p>Donald Robert Trenschel<\/p>\n<p>Iris Gray Worrell<br \/>\nBro. Orren and I go back many years.\u00a0 He did a superb job.\u00a0 It was good to visit with him again.<\/p>\n<p>It was an honor for me to recognize two former superintendents&#8211; Orren Simpson and Clifton Smith.\u00a0 Both these men are loved and deeply appreciated.\u00a0 Clifton also served the IPHC well in missions.\u00a0 He is still a delightful fellow!!!<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Ray Willis presented a challenging State of the Conference report.\u00a0 It was one of the best I\u2019ve heard this year.\u00a0 He is full of vision and mission.\u00a0 He focused on four points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Synergizing ministries and churches to accomplish kingdom success<\/li>\n<li>The increased need and implementation of next-generation emphasis and strategies<\/li>\n<li>Sonshine Network Ministries is to be a missions-minded conference.<\/li>\n<li>He is determined to provide resources, material, and training to help facilitate the vision given by God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Ray is an excellent speaker.\u00a0 On Friday night, he preached a marvelous message on the church as \u201cthe light of the world.\u201d\u00a0 There was a shout in the camp.<\/p>\n<p>Ray Willis is a \u201cMaster\u201d trainer with the IPHC and DCPI (Dynamic Church Planting International).\u00a0 He is one bishop who has made himself available for training and has partnered extensively with EVUSA.\u00a0 The conference is beginning to move forward with \u201csolid\u201d full Member Church plants and with fruitful church revitalization as well.\u00a0 Well done, Bishop Ray.\u00a0 I would be thrilled to have you multiplied, sir (and with Ray, you get Peggy).\u00a0 May I also say that Ray has one of the most beautiful and powerful F-350 trucks I have ever ridden in.\u00a0 Help me, Lord!<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Superintendent Donovan Tinsley read the Credential Committee Report.\u00a0 Eight would receive license and three would be ordained on Friday night:<\/p>\n<p>Clifford LeRoy Brooks\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minister\u2019s License<\/p>\n<p>Curtis J.
