King White, Sr."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1862\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/01\/King-White-e1514821771876.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"237\" \/>Rev. King E. White, Sr., former superintendent of the Pennsylvania (River of Life) Conference, passed away on December 30, 2017. Pastor White was a graduate of Holmes Bible College and an ordained minister in the North Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 70 years. He pastored several churches including Darlington PH Church, Carson Memorial PH Church, Belfast PH Church, Wilmington First PH Church, St. Paul PH Church, and Gospel Tabernacle in Dunn, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. White served in several positions on the conference and general level of the church including the General Board of Administration, the General Executive Board, and as the superintendent of the Pennsylvania Conference from 1970-1976. During his tenure, the Pennsylvania Conference grew in churches and membership. In 1977, he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to serve as the administrator of the Children&#8217;s Convalescent Center until he felt the Lord lead him to return to the pastorate at Gospel Tabernacle, where he pastored until his retirement in 2002. It was under his leadership that the church grew into one of the largest churches in the North Carolina Conference. Pastor White\u2019s life of service and dedication to the Lord is a testimony to us all and his legacy continues through the many lives he impacted for the kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor White is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice H. White; daughters and spouse, Sharon &amp; Bishop Charles Hawes, and Jannah White; sons and spouse, Pastor K. Edward (Eddie) White, Jr. &amp; Jacob D. White, and Alan and Peggy White; sister, Ola Mae Carraway; and brother and spouse, Rev. Wayne &amp; Barbara White; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Services for Rev. White will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018,\u00a0at 6 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle in Dunn, North Carolina,\u00a0with Bishop Danny Nelson, Pastor Randy Hill and Pastor Eddie White officiating.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Rev.
