QUADRENNIAL CONFERENCE <\/strong><\/p>\n

OCTOBER 11, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was my privilege to serve as the presiding officer for the GREAT PLAINS QUADRENNIAL CONFERENCE SESSION, October 11, 2014.\u00a0The Conference was hosted at Christian Heritage Church, Amarillo, Texas. Christian Heritage Church is pastored by Rev. Kevin and Christa McBride.
\nThe Conference had seventy-nine registered delegates in addition to guests and other attendees.This was a very historic Conference and gathering for Great Plains in that they were celebrating their 80th<\/sup> Anniversary and that they would also be electing a new Conference Superintendent. Bishop Gary Burd who had served Great Plains as Conference Superintendent for the past twenty years [five terms] had previously announced that he would not be a candidate for the office of Conference Superintendent this term choosing instead to focus his vision and passion on serving as the Director of IPHC\u2019s M25 Ministry.\u00a0Bishop Burd\u2019s concluding State of the Conference Report was vintage Gary \u2013 direct, candid, passionate and full of \u2018heart\u2019!
\nGeneral Superintendent Beacham requested that I present Gary with the award that is being presented to out-going Superintendents for their service as Council of Bishops\u2019 [COB] members this past Quadrennium, 2010-2014. It was an honor to do so on his\u00a0behalf. I will miss Gary\u2019s passion, grit, and constant reminder that we must \u2018defend those who are poor and have no helper\u2019. Gary and Carolyn\u2019s imprint on the fabric of the IPHC is indelible!<\/p>\n

The Conference in Session elected the following Slate of Officers:

I was privileged to serve with Scott Hampton in the DMD. Scott\u2019s testimony will bring tears to your eyes. Gary has mentored and prepared Scott as best he could for this season of ministry.\u00a0 I know that Scott and his wife, Heather, will accomplish great things for the Kingdom! La Conferencia se realiz\u00f3 en Christian Heritage Church, Amarillo, Texas. La Iglesia de la Herencia Cristiana es pastoreada por el Reverendo Kevin y Christa McBride. La Conferencia ten\u00eda setenta y nueve delegados registrados, adem\u00e1s de invitados y otros attendees.This fue una conferencia muy hist\u00f3rico y la recolecci\u00f3n de las Grandes Llanuras en que estaban celebrando su 80 \u00b0<\/sup> aniversario y que tambi\u00e9n ser\u00edan elecci\u00f3n de un nuevo Superintendente de la Conferencia. El obispo Gary Burd, quien hab\u00eda servido en Great Plains como Superintendente de la Conferencia durante los \u00faltimos veinte a\u00f1os [cinco mandatos], hab\u00eda anunciado previamente que no ser\u00eda candidato para el cargo de Superintendente de la Conferencia. Este t\u00e9rmino, en cambio, decidi\u00f3 enfocar su visi\u00f3n y pasi\u00f3n en servir como el Director del Ministerio M25 de IPHC.
