As a large flatbed trailer was converted into a stage for the church\u2019s praise band and singers, Scotland County Sheriff Ralph Kersey and deputies played football, sports, and games with the children. The event was a real community effort as the church provided free soft drinks and hot dogs and the Scotland County Parks and Recreation supplied games and activities.\u00a0For four hours, church members, community residents, and local law enforcement officers sang, worshiped, and prayed together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3652\" style=\"width: 262px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/04\/image10-e1554471598136.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3652\" class=\"wp-image-3652\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/04\/image10-e1554471598136.jpeg\" alt=\"Cross Pointe Church, Laurinburg, NC\" width=\"252\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/04\/image10-e1554471598136.jpeg 480w, https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/04\/image10-e1554471598136-200x267.jpeg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3652\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cross Pointe Church, Laurinburg, NC<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;color: #000000\">As the event concluded, a young man asked Pastor Edds, \u201cWhy is the church doing this?\u201d Pastor Edds replied, \u201cBecause we love you!\u201d\u00a0The young man responded, \u201cWow!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Cross Pointe\u2019s commitment to its community is not just a one-time event. Each Tuesday evening, the church provides food, games, and a Bible lesson for approximately 125 children in the area. They have plans to expand this ministry with a new Life Center opening soon. Associate Pastor Watson and his team also want to visit different neighborhoods once a month to hold similar community events.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;color: #000000\">According to Pastor Edds, \u201cGetting out of the four walls is changing our church. People are getting excited.
