{"id":4146,"date":"2019-08-15T15:14:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T20:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/?p=4146"},"modified":"2019-08-15T15:14:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T20:14:38","slug":"north-carolina-conference-annual-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/2019\/08\/15\/north-carolina-conference-annual-report\/","title":{"rendered":"North Carolina Conference Annual Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was my privilege to serve as the presiding officer for the 108<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>Conference Session of the North Carolina Conference onAugust 3, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference convened at 9 a.m. in the beautiful J. A. Culbreth Auditorium on the campus of the North Carolina Conference, which is located in historic Falcon, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Conference Superintendent, Bishop Danny Nelson in his unassuming and personable way delivered his State of the Conference Reportwith passion and conviction.\u00a0A few excerpts from Bishop Nelson\u2019s report follow:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of 2018, the North Carolina Conference had 214 churches, 30,024 members, averaged 18,405 in attendance, recorded 8,917 in systematic Bible studies, 4,557 salvations, 380 sanctifications, and259 \u2018Pentecostal Baptisms.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This conference has excelled again as the top giving and participating conference in the U.S. &#8211; to God be the glory for the great things He has done through the ministry of the North Carolina Conference.\u00a0Still I declare to you with much anticipation and excitement that, \u2018we\u2019ve only scratched the surface\u2019, of what we can do together. This conference must set the pace and continue to direct, spearhead, and lead the charge in winning the lost for our Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Our vision for Arise 2033 is to have 250 churches, 40,000 members, 30,000 in average attendance, 15,000 in systematic Bible studies, and 7,000 experiences yearly. The great \u2018IF\u2019 of ARISE 2033 is not God\u2019s power, nor His harvest (it\u2019s His), nor money &#8211; its laborers \u2013 you and I and a host of laborers to be tapped, equipped, andsent.\u00a0Through our coaching and revitalization programs, we\u2019re believing God for revitalized congregations, laborers, anddisciples.\u00a0 We\u2019re going all outto identify and equip ministers and lay ministry leaders in our School of Ministry, INCaM, and the Hispanic School of Ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Nelson then introduced Rev. Bill Rose, who highlighted the conference\u2019s revitalization efforts by identifying some of their successes to date.\u00a0Bill serves as one of five regional coaches for Church Revitalization Multiplication and works in partnership with Rev. Josh Hannah, Church Revitalization &amp; Multiplication National Consultant\/EVUSA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot finish the Great Commission without the power of the Holy Spirit. pastors, minsters, congregations &#8211; beyond the coaching, the training, the School of Ministry, the mechanics and workings of the conference &#8211; I want to emphasize some absolute necessities:\u00a0prayer, preaching, the call, and the function of the altar.\u00a0We are Pentecostal and we are Holiness \u2013 preach the doctrines of the Bible from which we draw our identity as a People of Promise.<\/p>\n<p>I am still driven by the words and promises that God spoke through brother Randy Hill to me last year: INCREASE \u2013 EXPANSION \u2013 ACCELERATION!<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to 2020 and beyond.\u00a0I look forward to what God has in store for this conference.\u00a0We are better working together in the Lord\u2019s harvest.\u00a0Let\u2019s unite our hearts, talents and resources to complete the Great Commission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clergy Credentials were issued\/approved as follows:<\/p>\n<p><em>Certificate of Ordination (10) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paula Bryant<\/li>\n<li>Kathya Gonzalez<\/li>\n<li>Mario Leon<\/li>\n<li>Karen Lucas<\/li>\n<li>Paul Mobley, Jr.<\/li>\n<li>Twila Nelson<\/li>\n<li>Jody O\u2019Neal<\/li>\n<li>Vernanda Oxendine<\/li>\n<li>Jacob Snider<\/li>\n<li>Alan Woodard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Minister\u2019s License (14) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>David Butler<\/li>\n<li>Edward DeLisle<\/li>\n<li>Chris Dunn<\/li>\n<li>Hannon Edwards<\/li>\n<li>Steven Mercer<\/li>\n<li>Pam Mills<\/li>\n<li>Chris Nobles<\/li>\n<li>Karelys Pereira<\/li>\n<li>Jeovanni Rivera<\/li>\n<li>Melanie Ross<\/li>\n<li>Paul Street<\/li>\n<li>Hannah Ward<\/li>\n<li>Michael Watts<\/li>\n<li>Janene Wooten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Local Church Minister\u2019s License (6) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pablo Avila<\/li>\n<li>Susana Avila<\/li>\n<li>Jamie Hammonds<\/li>\n<li>Kenneth Hyde<\/li>\n<li>Juan Carlos<\/li>\n<li>Matthew Sessoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Linda Thomas, conference executive council member, presented the conference\u2019s Appreciation Reportwhich honored Rev. Dr. R. W. Vince Arnold (39 years), Rev. Robert J. Forehand (45 years), and Rev. Mrs. Patsy Tuner Jones (transferred her credentials to NC in 2004) and their spouses for their years of service as ministers of the gospel in the North Carolina Conference and congratulated them on their retirement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Thomas concluded the Appreciation Report by saying:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly eternity will reveal the fruit of the labors of these faithful servants who have answered His call\u2026who have been willing to go to their assignments and preach the gospel, love the people, and nurture them in spiritual growth. We can only say, \u2018Thank You\u2019 today, but God\u2019s Word promises that one day they will receive their greatest reward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFor God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love.\u201d\u00a0&#8211;<\/em>Hebrews 6: 10<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Doug Bartlett, assistant conference superintendent, led the conference in memorializing and honoring the lives and ministry legacies of 12 \u2018heroines\/heroes of the faith\u2019 in an exceptionally well-produced video tribute and Memoirs Report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lois Smith Lewis<\/li>\n<li>David Lee Barnes<\/li>\n<li>Ellen Hancock Guthrie<\/li>\n<li>Jesse Barnes Horne<\/li>\n<li>Ralph W.
