Chris Thompson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lifepoint Ministries had a very interesting approach to their \u201cannual conference.\u201d\u00a0 They began with a service on Wednesday night.\u00a0 Bishop Tim Lamb preached.\u00a0 He used it as an opportunity to vision cast.\u00a0 Camp meeting services followed on Thursday and Friday nights.\u00a0 The Business session was on Thursday morning.\u00a0 On Friday morning and Saturday morning, special training for all was offered.\u00a0 Thursday and Friday afternoons were used for family type fellowship and entertainment.\u00a0 It was a very rewarding week for all.<\/p>\n<p>I was privileged to be present on Thursday and most of Friday.\u00a0 I would have been present at the Wednesday night service but a 2.5 hour plane delay prohibited that.\u00a0 I understand Bishop Lamb did an excellent job in casting vision.\u00a0 He challenged all present to be like Jesus and go to \u201cthe next town.\u201d He is an excellent preacher and communicator!<\/p>\n<p>The meetings were held in the John Swails Center on the campus of Emmanuel College.\u00a0 The attendance was excellent during the day and even better in the evening services.\u00a0 Some 78 clergy delegates were present for the Thursday Annual Conference session.\u00a0 The total attendance was over 125.<\/p>\n<p>It was my peasure to preside over the Thursday morning session.\u00a0 The morning began with the \u201cWe Prayerfully Value Pentecost\u201d devotion.\u00a0 I followed up with some detail on \u201cThe Year of the Holy Spirit and EVUSA.\u201d\u00a0 I also mentioned the recent Empower 21 meeting in Jerusalem especially on Pentecost Sunday.\u00a0 The devotion was received well.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives present gave special presentations on Emmanuel College and Holmes Bible College.\u00a0 Chaplain Adam Erwin gave an excellent presentation on Chaplains \u2013 both military and institutional.\u00a0 Adam is awaiting assignment as a Navy Chaplain.<\/p>\n<p>The Discipleship Ministries Director, Rich Hulsey gave the Examining Committee Report.\u00a0 These were approved for credentials:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><u><br \/>\n<strong>Ordination<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Bruce Floyd<br \/>\nJeff Thomas<br \/>\nGreg Smith<br \/>\nTom Carter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>License<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Brian Gerrald<br \/>\nJohnny Kelly<br \/>\nMandy Lester<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u><br \/>\nLocal Church Minister<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Mark Byrd<br \/>\nLacretia Gerrald<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Tony Royston transferred in from the Congregational Holiness Church.\u00a0 Doug Studdard was seconded from the Congregational Holiness Church. It was my pleasure to speak a Biblical Challenge to the candidates and lay hands of ordination on the ordination candidates.\u00a0 I do enjoy these special times of impartation.<\/p>\n<p>It was a special joy to all present to have three former Superintendents present.\u00a0 These were Keith Hearn, John Ingham and Bill Jones.\u00a0 I was able to present Bro. Bill Jones an award of appreciation from the Council of Bishops for his service over the last four years.\u00a0 Bill was also honored on Wednesday night with \u201cDivine Servant\u201d award by Bishop Tim Lamb.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Lamb gave an excellent State of the Conference Report.\u00a0 He focused on the future.\u00a0 On review of his report, it is obvious he has his clergy and churches at heart.\u00a0 During the last year he personally visited 30 churches and held countless area meetings with his clergy\/spouses.
