The General Superintendent\u2019s Office recently welcomed US Senator James Lankford to the Global Ministry Center. The General Superintendent was eager to express the IPHC\u2019s thanks for Senator Lankford\u2019s help with a challenge the IPHC Ukraine faced in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful for Senator Lankford\u2019s help to IPHC Ukraine,\u201d said General Superintendent Doug Beacham, before showing the senator drawings of the proposed Ukraine building project. Christian Hope Church in Kyiv hopes to develop the property as the Township of Mercy and Kindness, \u201ca multifunctional spiritual and benevolent complex\u201d that will offer space for over 50 rehabilitation, educational, and social programs. The invasion of Ukraine in March 2022 has put building plans on hold, but the church anticipates the ministry opportunities in the years to come.<\/p>\n

During his visit to the GMC, Senator Lankford toured the building, calling on the IPHC\u2019s resident ministries and meeting on-site staff. He also shared some of his own ministry experience, as director of Falls Creek Youth Camp and in youth ministry for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

Lankford, who was elected to the Senate in 2014 after four years in the US House of Representatives, also shared some of his experience as a Christian working in government. He emphasized the importance of Christians serving as light wherever they are, no matter how dark or difficult their situation.<\/p>\n

In keeping with our historic stance, the IPHC does not endorse political candidates.
