{"id":884,"date":"2016-05-18T16:56:53","date_gmt":"2016-05-18T16:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/?p=884"},"modified":"2016-05-18T16:56:53","modified_gmt":"2016-05-18T16:56:53","slug":"2016-upper-south-carolina-conference-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/gso\/2016\/05\/18\/2016-upper-south-carolina-conference-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2016 Upper South Carolina Conference Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>By Bishop Talmadge Gardner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I had the honor of serving as the presiding officer for the UPPER SOUTH CAROLINA ANNUAL CONFERENCE SESSION, May 14, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The conference was hosted in the tabernacle of the Upper South Carolina Conference Campgrounds in Pelzer, South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>I was privileged to serve as the presiding officer for this annual conference in 2013. The session that day was marked by an unusual sense of God\u2019s presence and anointing.\u00a0 That same presence and power was evident this past Saturday\u2014a humbling experience.<\/p>\n<p>Clergy credentials were issued as follows:<\/p>\n<p><em>Ordination (5) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jonathan Bryan<\/li>\n<li>Kendall Gilliam<\/li>\n<li>Donna Lance (Ms. Lance serves as conference secretary\/treasurer and longtime executive assistant to four conference superintendents.\u00a0 She is a very gifted lady.)<\/li>\n<li>John Smith<\/li>\n<li>Martin Wiles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>License (4) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matthew Brown<\/li>\n<li>Jimmy Heaton<\/li>\n<li>Kelly Malloy<\/li>\n<li>Bridgette Parsons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Local Church Minister\u2019s Certificate (6) \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jennifer Branham<\/li>\n<li>Rusty Carroll<\/li>\n<li>Suzanne Carroll<\/li>\n<li>Will Crawford<\/li>\n<li>Brent McCurry<\/li>\n<li>Sierra Turner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference in session memorialized the following with a poignant Memoirs Report.\u00a0 Mrs. Karen Boggs, the beloved wife of our brother-in-Christ and colleague Bishop Ray Boggs, was among those remembered\/honored:<\/p>\n<p>Ministers \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thomas E. Mason, Jr.<\/li>\n<li>Wesley E. Dixon<\/li>\n<li>J. C. Sorrow<\/li>\n<li>Jaymon H. Smith<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minister\u2019s Spouses \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Martha H. Butler<\/li>\n<li>Mildred D. Fleming<\/li>\n<li>Kathy W. Romich<\/li>\n<li>Karen F. Boggs<\/li>\n<li>Byrdie Lee Boggs<\/li>\n<li>Trannie W. Sorrow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was an honor as the presiding officer to recognize the following conference attendees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bishop James D. Leggett, 17<sup>th<\/sup> General Superintendent of the IPHC from 1997-2009.\u00a0 Bishop Leggett also served as the executive director of Evangelism USA from 1989-1997 and currently serves as president of Holmes Bible College.<\/li>\n<li>Nan Carpenter served as the former director of the General Minister\u2019s Wives Fellowship and as a member of the General Ministries Cabinet which was established in 2009.<\/li>\n<li>Ron Moore, former Conference Superintendent, General Board of Administration member &amp; President of Southwestern Christian University<\/li>\n<li>Ray &amp; Wanda Buchanan, former Conference Superintendent &amp; General Board of Administration member<\/li>\n<li>Harrell Queen, Director of Alumni Relations, Emmanuel College<\/li>\n<li>Willard &amp;
