MILESTONE IN MYANMAR<\/strong>
\nIn early March, I journeyed to Myanmar to join Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham and missionary Vijay Balla for some exciting times of ministry among our IPHC churches. Myanmar has suffered for decades under oppressive military rule, but has begun opening up under a democratically elected government. In answer to the prayers of God’s people, freedom and opportunity are expanding!<\/p>\nA three-day celebration was held in the town of Khampat to commemorate the silver anniversary of IPHC Myanmar, known as Church on the Rock. In answer to God’s call, Rev. James Lian Sai left his home state 25 years ago to establish a Bible College in Yangon, from which church planters have been sent out across the nation. His apostolic ministry has resulted in 137 churches now operating throughout Myanmar!<\/p>\n
As many as 1500 people attended the worship and teaching services in the town hall. The meetings featured lively and passionate worship, anointed preaching, and intense prayer. Two new ministers were ordained, and prayer services were held in believers’ homes as well.<\/p>\n
While in Yangon, Bishop Beacham and I had the joy of visiting ACTS Children’s Home, where orphaned, abandoned, and endangered children are taken in from war-torn tribal areas of the country, and given a Christian upbringing, a good education, and hope for the future. Many of these children have gone on to become teachers, church planters, and missionaries to their home villages!<\/p>\n
CONFERENCE IN THAILAND<\/strong>
\nIn May, I traveled to Thailand for the 14th Annual Conference of IPHC Thailand, known as Alliance Church Association. More than 100 pastors and leaders joined together for three days of business, worship, prayer, fellowship, and teaching from the Word of God.<\/p>\nWe were blessed to have Dr. Terry Tramel and Rev. Lorenzo Aguilar as special guests, presenting unified and anointed messages on the theme \u201cthe Power of Faith.\u201d ACA ministries are multi-ethnic, reaching not only Thais, but also Filipinos, Nepalis, several native tribal groups, and refugees from Myanmar.<\/p>\n
On the final day, credentials were awarded to 11 mission workers, 10 licensed ministers, and 2 newly ordained seminary teachers. We thank God for continuing to send more workers into the harvest!<\/p>\n
Thanks to the outstanding leadership of ACA President Dr. Wallapa, and the dedicated efforts of missionaries Albert and Jiep Gonzales, the number of IPHC churches increased from 44 to 54 during the past year. In spite of tightening legal restrictions and growing political uncertainty, the Lord has granted us favor in many ways, and the conferees left the campground encouraged, inspired, and determined to \u201crun with perseverance\u2026looking unto Jesus!\u201d<\/p>\n
POINTS FOR PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Pray for continued expansion of freedom and opportunity in Myamar, and continued multiplication of disciples and churches.<\/li>\n
- Pray for financial support for ACTS Children\u2019s Home, so that more deprived children can be given hope for the future.<\/li>\n
- Pray for the ACA outreach efforts to unreached tribal areas and the refugee population.<\/li>\n
- Pray for Russell\u2019s upcoming trip to Pakistan, and for our visit to the US this summer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

MILESTONE EN MYANMAR<\/strong> A principios de marzo, viaj\u00e9 a Myanmar para unirme al obispo presidente Doug Beacham y al misionero Vijay Balla por algunos momentos emocionantes de ministerio entre nuestras iglesias de IPHC. Myanmar ha sufrido durante d\u00e9cadas bajo un r\u00e9gimen militar opresivo, pero ha comenzado a abrirse bajo un gobierno democr\u00e1ticamente elegido. \u00a1En respuesta a las oraciones del pueblo de Dios, la libertad y la oportunidad se est\u00e1n expandiendo! Una celebraci\u00f3n de tres d\u00edas se celebr\u00f3 en la ciudad de Khampat para conmemorar el aniversario de plata de IPHC Myanmar, conocida como Iglesia sobre la Roca. En respuesta a la llamada de Dios, el Rev. James Lian Sai dej\u00f3 su estado de origen hace 25 a\u00f1os para establecer un Colegio B\u00edblico en Yangon, del cual los plantadores de iglesias han sido enviados a trav\u00e9s de la naci\u00f3n. Su ministerio apost\u00f3lico ha resultado en 137 iglesias que ahora operan en toda Myanmar. Hasta 1500 personas asistieron a los servicios de adoraci\u00f3n y ense\u00f1anza en el ayuntamiento. CONFERENCIA EN TAILANDIA<\/strong> En mayo, viaj\u00e9 a Tailandia para la XIV Conferencia Anual de IPHC Tailandia, conocida como Asociaci\u00f3n de Iglesias de la Alianza. M\u00e1s de 100 pastores y l\u00edderes se unieron durante tres d\u00edas de negocios, adoraci\u00f3n, oraci\u00f3n, compa\u00f1erismo y ense\u00f1anza de la Palabra de Dios. Fuimos bendecidos por tener al Dr. Terry Tramel y al Rev. Lorenzo Aguilar como invitados especiales, presentando mensajes unificados y ungidos sobre el tema \"El Poder de la Fe\". Los ministerios ACA son multi\u00e9tnicos, llegando no s\u00f3lo a los tailandeses, sino tambi\u00e9n a los filipinos, nepal\u00edes , Varios grupos tribales nativos y refugiados de Myanmar. En el \u00faltimo d\u00eda, se otorgaron credenciales a 11 trabajadores misioneros, 10 ministros licenciados y 2 maestros de seminario reci\u00e9n ordenados. \u00a1Damos gracias a Dios por seguir enviando m\u00e1s trabajadores a la cosecha! Gracias al destacado liderazgo del Presidente de la ACA, Dr. Wallapa, ya los dedicados esfuerzos de los misioneros Albert y Jiep Gonzales, el n\u00famero de iglesias de la IPHC aument\u00f3 de 44 a 54 durante el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o. A pesar del endurecimiento de las restricciones legales y de la creciente incertidumbre pol\u00edtica, el Se\u00f1or nos ha concedido el favor de muchas maneras, y los participantes dejaron el campamento alentado, inspirado y decidido a \"perseguir con perseverancia ... mirando a Jes\u00fas!\" PUNTOS PARA LA ORACI\u00d3N<\/strong>\r\n\r\n \t- Oremos por la expansi\u00f3n continua de la libertad y la oportunidad en Myamar, y la continua multiplicaci\u00f3n de disc\u00edpulos e iglesias.<\/li>\r\n \t
- Oremos por el apoyo financiero para ACTS Children's Home, para que los ni\u00f1os m\u00e1s privados puedan tener esperanza en el futuro.<\/li>\r\n \t
- Oremos por los esfuerzos de extensi\u00f3n de ACA a las \u00e1reas tribales no alcanzadas ya la poblaci\u00f3n de refugiados.<\/li>\r\n \t
