Ann retired as a schoolteacher with Greenwood District 50 after twenty-eight years of service and served forty-seven years along-side of her husband as a pastor\u2019s wife and she was also a missionary to Africa. Ann was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by two sisters, Betty Barr (Ernest) of Travelers Rest, SC and Jane Smith of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a niece, Angel Barr Capps (Dennis); great-nephews, Will and Jonathan; and great-niece Peyton of SC; nephew, Thad Barr (Stacie); great-nieces, Meredith (Chad), Morgan; great-nephew, Tommy; great-great nephew, Monty of TX; a brother-in-law, Keith Morris (Kathy); sister-in-law, Judy Benson; nephew, Jeff Benson (Brooke); nieces, Virginia Smelts (Adam), Alicia and Audra; great-nieces, Alabama and Mattie; great-nephews Pate, Blue of GA.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Barr and Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. A private family burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.<\/p>\n<p>The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Special appreciation for the excellent care Ann received throughout her illness is extended to Dr. Heidi Rodillo, Dr. Priya Kumar, and Dr. Joanna Sadurski. Also, to Juna Deal, Shamekia Harris, and her faithful friends and to the staff of Hospice Care of the Piedmont.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rice Memorial Baptist Church, 1975 Hwy 72, West Greenwood, SC 29649 or to Hospice Care Piedmont, 408 W. They preached the Gospel of Christ on four continents: North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
