{"id":244,"date":"2015-02-10T14:06:53","date_gmt":"2015-02-10T14:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/?p=244"},"modified":"2015-05-28T18:49:47","modified_gmt":"2015-05-28T18:49:47","slug":"to-cc-or-not-to-cc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/to-cc-or-not-to-cc\/","title":{"rendered":"To CC Or Not to CC?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nativeleader.org\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-211 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/10\/Native-Leader-Banner-2-300x161.jpg\" alt=\"Native Leader Banner 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-center\" style=\"color: #3a4459;text-align: center\">by\u00a0<a style=\"color: #3a4459\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nativeleader.org\/tim-salley\">Tim Salley<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">To CC or not to CC, that is the question.\u00a0 For the purposes of this article, CC stands for carbon copy.\u00a0 The definition for CC is, \u201cto\u00a0send\u00a0a\u00a0duplicate\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0document,\u00a0e-mail,\u00a0or\u00a0the\u00a0like.\u201d An example of its usage \u2013 \u201c<em>I\u00a0always\u00a0CC\u00a0my\u00a0boss when\u00a0I\u00a0write\u00a0a\u00a0memo\u00a0to\u00a0my\u00a0staff.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">Effective communication between ministry leaders, staff and partners is a very key component to ministry achievement and success in our Kingdom endeavors.\u00a0 Effective communication can keep us from being misunderstood.\u00a0 Effective communication can keep us from offending others.\u00a0 Effective communication can help us fulfill protocols.\u00a0 Effective communication can show others that we respect authority and leadership.\u00a0 Effective communication is enhanced when we utilize the function called CC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">Social media has exploded in the last decade to include applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogging, and the like.\u00a0 These have made the world a more close-knit community than ever before. The most effective way to communicate with our ministry leaders, staff and partners, however, remains email.\u00a0 Email is a more formal, business-like way to communicate.\u00a0 Social media has its place, but email continues to be the most effective avenue to communicate with co-laborers in the Harvest Fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">Email is instant and ubiquitous.\u00a0 Almost all of humanity now has an email address.\u00a0 I communicate by email with people from every continent.\u00a0 I communicate by email with the wealthiest of our world and with the poorest of the poor.\u00a0 But I have noticed one thing about email.\u00a0 Most do not utilize the CC function in their email communications.\u00a0 Why is this the case?\u00a0 I honestly don\u2019t know!<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">I want to shout it from the housetops:\u00a0<em>\u201cPlease utilize the CC function in your emails!!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 In the long run, it will keep you from being misunderstood and offending others, it will help you to fulfill communication protocols, and it will show others that you respect authority and leadership in your life and ministry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">A few years back, a new national leader was chosen in one of the countries where we have ministry.\u00a0 This leader made a decision to improve the communication between the national leadership team and myself.\u00a0 He set a new protocol that instituted the use of the CC function in all email communication between himself, the national leadership team and myself.\u00a0 After working out a few kinks, it has proven to be a very effective way to communicate together as we partner in the work of the Kingdom to spread the GOOD NEWS in that country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">Are there any benefits to utilizing the CC function?\u00a0 Yes there are!\u00a0 Here are a few:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"color: #3a4459\">\n<li>It keeps ALL parties within a ministry team included and informed in ministry endeavors.\u00a0 No one feels left out or slighted.\u00a0 This is a big deal as it fosters and enhances the team\u2019s cohesion and unity.<\/li>\n<li>It allows for ALL parties within a ministry team to share comments, thoughts and insights with the entire team regarding the topic included in the communication.\u00a0 Thus, the ministry team can utilize all the experience and wisdom of all its members.<\/li>\n<li>It allows for a record of the conversation for that particular topic.<\/li>\n<li>It shows that you have a healthy regard for authority and leadership and that you respect and honor that authority and leadership.\u00a0 God blesses that!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"color: #3a4459\">So what are you waiting for?\u00a0 Begin to utilize the CC function in your emails.\u00a0 You have a responsibility to keep your ministry leaders, staff and partners in the loop of what\u2019s happening. \u00a0 It only takes a few extra seconds to add a CC.\u00a0 It will keep the others that minister alongside of you happier!!\u00a0 And it will help you to increase your communication effectiveness.\u00a0 So go ahead, start CC\u2019ing today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
