Greetings from Japan!<\/p>\n

In January, I (Russell) journeyed to India for the annual pastors\u2019 conferences in the South and the North.<\/p>\n

SOUTH INDIA CONFERENCE<\/span><\/h2>\n

For the first time, the South India Conference was held in Maruteru, where the work in South India began sixty years ago. Missionary Danny Williams joined me in ministry at the conference. As always, it was a highlight to confer licenses (32 this time) upon the newly approved ministers in the Conference, both men and women.<\/p>\n

While in Maruteru, we dedicated a beautiful, newly remodeled church on the site where the first church building was constructed by missionaries Ken and Joan Donald in 1960. A reunion of former hostel children was held during the conference, and it was inspiring to hear testimonies of how their lives were impacted and transformed through the education provided by the missionaries there.<\/p>\n

CHURCH DEDICATION<\/span><\/h2>\n

Bishop Talmadge Gardner joined me in Srikakulam to dedicate the beautiful new sanctuary of Living Waters PH Church. This congregation of nearly 400 is led by Bishop Samuel Moses, conference superintendent, and his wife, Smitha. Planted in a slum area of the city, this church has been a transformative influence in the community, and has birthed 10 daughter congregations and 15 house churches! Funds for this magnificent structure came from donations to the Global Outreach offering, contributions from Wing Kwong PH Church in Hong Kong, and the sacrificial giving of local believers.<\/p>\n

Shalom Bible College Graduates<\/p><\/div>\n

JOINT NORTHERN CONFERENCE<\/span><\/h2>\n

The North, Central, and Eastern Conferences held a joint gathering in an industrial city. For safety reasons, few photos or details can be published. Over 95% of pastors participated in the conference, with 242 delegates. Highlights included:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Awarding diplomas to eleven graduates of Shalom Bible Institute<\/p>\n

\u2022 Celebrating 50 years of ministry by a veteran pastor and his wife<\/p>\n

\u2022 Awarding credentials to 23 newly licensed ministers<\/p>\n

\u2022 Recognizing the pastors who paid the highest personal tithes<\/p>\n

\u2022 Initiating a new program to finance church building construction<\/p>\n

It was especially moving when the treasurer presented me with $3,600 in donations for the Global Outreach Offering! In a country where many workers earn only a few dollars per day, this represents sacrificial generosity of a high level. These believers count it a privilege to join in the effort to take the gospel to the unreached around the world. Let us follow their example!<\/p>\n

POINTS FOR PRAYER<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u2022 Pray for the persecuted churches and believers of India. Pray for religious freedom, and faithful and fruitful witness.
\n\u2022 Pray for the newly credentialed ministers, that they will serve the Lord with joy and faithfulness, and bear fruit for His glory.
\n\u2022 Pray for the church planter training programs in the south and north, that unreached towns and villages may be blessed with places of hope.
\n\u2022 Pray for the upcoming Indian national elections, that leaders will come to power who act with justice and fairness toward all religions.
\n\u2022 Pray for us as we provide oversight to a dozen countries in Asia, and seek to mobilize personnel and resources to reach the unreached.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel!<\/p>\n

Como cristianos, estamos agradecidos por el nuevo comienzo que tenemos en Cristo, la oportunidad de vivir con Cristo para siempre como una nueva creaci\u00f3n. Estamos muy agradecidos por cada uno de ustedes que se han asociado con nosotros para compartir esta maravillosa noticia de amor y perd\u00f3n con los japoneses. Nos encontramos con muchas personas cada d\u00eda que nunca han o\u00eddo hablar de Dios o Jes\u00fas y su amor por ellos. \u00a1Muchas gracias por su sacrificio de oraci\u00f3n y apoyo para ayudarnos a compartir el evangelio con los japoneses! Eryn ten\u00eda una clase de Navidad para hornear en casa en diciembre. \u00a1Hubo un n\u00famero r\u00e9cord de 65 ni\u00f1os en asistencia! Tuvimos que dividir a los ni\u00f1os en cinco clases diferentes para tener espacio para todos. Comenzamos a hornear a las 8:30 am y terminamos a las 6:00 pm Los ni\u00f1os se divirtieron mucho horneando y decorando los \u00e1rboles de Navidad de brownie. Pudimos hablar sobre la raz\u00f3n por la que todos en todo el mundo celebran la Navidad y el nacimiento de Jes\u00fas mientras est\u00e1bamos horneando. Los ni\u00f1os disfrutaron mirando todas nuestras decoraciones navide\u00f1as, incluyendo varias natividades, que nunca hab\u00edan visto antes. Ofrecemos clases de conversaci\u00f3n en ingl\u00e9s para ni\u00f1os por las tardes despu\u00e9s de que los ni\u00f1os salen de la escuela. Oremos con nosotros para que las historias se queden en sus corazones y los ni\u00f1os y sus padres ser\u00e1n atra\u00eddos para aprender m\u00e1s acerca de este Jes\u00fas que fue el centro de todas las historias que escucharon. Hiro visita nuestra iglesia IPH en la peque\u00f1a isla japonesa de Nagasaki varias veces a lo largo del a\u00f1o para alentar y apoyar al pastor y su esposa. Tuvieron un gran momento de aliento y oraci\u00f3n al final del a\u00f1o pasado. El pastor japon\u00e9s, Yunohara, ha comenzado a celebrar reuniones de la iglesia dos veces al mes en un centro de inmigraci\u00f3n en su ciudad. Este centro es una instalaci\u00f3n de retenci\u00f3n para extranjeros que han sobrepasado su VISA para Jap\u00f3n y, por lo tanto, no se les permite ingresar a Jap\u00f3n. Es un milagro que le hayan permitido prestar un servicio all\u00ed. Tom\u00f3 mucha oraci\u00f3n y perseverancia, pero a lo largo de varios a\u00f1os, los oficiales de inmigraci\u00f3n y los prisioneros vieron el amor de Dios a trav\u00e9s de las palabras y acciones de Hiroshi durante sus visitas regulares a los detenidos.
