Global news agencies have covered the savage and deadly suicide bombings which took place in two churches in Lahore, Pakistan, this past Sunday. Christians in Pakistan are facing a new level of persecution; please join us in prayer for believers in this region. Continental Director Russell Board and Regional Director Tim Salley received the following report from our IPHC national leader in Pakistan:<\/p>\n
“We are\u00a0feeling uncertainty from our government, after 18 people have been killed, and almost 70 badly injured\u200b in the\u00a0recent\u00a0bombings.\u200b \u200bThe Taliban has claimed \u200bresponsibility for \u200bthe attack on Christians\u200b.\u200b Our concern is \u200bfor safety and security during \u200b\u200bworship \u200bservices\u00a0in Pakistan; \u200bwe will have many \u200bservices to celebrate the\u00a0Resurrection day of our Lord. Our people are very \u200bworried. The government is not able to provide policemen at every church\u00a0since they \u200black manpower and resources; many churches are not able to hire their own guards to protect their church premises. \u200bW\u200be \u200bfeel\u00a0abandoned \u200bby the government. Sadly, after the incident in Lahore, young people \u200bresponded\u00a0with violen\u200bt protests\u200b. I’m afraid that many Christians have been influenced by this lawless society and want to take the law into\u200b their own hands. Many leaders and pastors are making efforts to \u200bcalm the angry mob\u200bs\u200b \u200bon the\u00a0Christian side. Law enforcement agencies are still deployed in the affected area in Lahore to control \u200bthe \u200bChristian men and also minimize the risk of attack from the \u200bangry \u200bMuslim mob\u200bs\u200b in\u00a0the neighboring areas.\u200b”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

- Pray for the protection of Youhanabad Lahore, and other Christian areas in Pakistan<\/li>\n
- Pray for peace during\u00a0Easter season\u00a0in Pakistan<\/li>\n
