Jennifer Moore has been with World Missions Ministries since 2011. She recently had the opportunity to work with Centraal Caf\u00e9 in Antwerp, Belgium, alongside career missionaries, Bill and Gretchen Schwartz, for two and a half months. This is where her passion to be involved with Coffee House Ministries was cultivated. Here is a snapshot of her recent journey and where she believes God is leading her next.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you feed them, they will come.\u201d I\u2019ve heard my mother say this parody statement many times throughout my life. I would always laugh when she said it, but time and time again, I have seen it come to pass.<\/em><\/p>\n

There are many times throughout Scripture where we see Jesus eating with His disciples, with sinners, and even with Pharisees. Every time He is eating with someone, He is also teaching them. When Jesus met Zacchaeus, He told him that He must be a guest of Zacchaeus. In that culture, this meant that they would be eating together. Because Jesus reached out to Zacchaeus and developed a relationship with him, Zacchaeus\u2019 heart was opened to the truth. This brings to mind another principle I learned from my mother: when the physical hunger is satisfied, people are then willing to allow you to satisfy their spiritual hunger as well. It was partially with this in mind that my desire to be part of Coffee House Ministries began. <\/em><\/p>\n

This summer, I had the opportunity to join the team in Antwerp, Belgium. I went to assist in the opening of Centraal Cafe and found an opportunity to use one of the gifts God gave me, the ability to bake. Not to toot my own horn, but I am pretty good at it. One benefit of having an \u201cin-house\u201d baker is the ability to keep prices very affordable for delicious baked goodies. <\/em><\/p>\n

Despite only being there for a short time, I was able to meet some amazing people. Many people from Christian Community, the church plant in Antwerp, came to our open nights, but we also had several people come in out of curiosity. It was at one of the caf\u00e9 open nights I was able to talk more in-depth with one of the ladies who had only just started coming to the church. She moved to Antwerp from France for work and had very little spiritual background, but was searching for more meaning in her life. She is only one example of the many people who are desperately seeking the light and love of Christ. To my knowledge, she is still attending Christian Community. <\/em><\/p>\n

The cafe has an amazing location. It is right along the river, just off of a major thoroughfare, and is surrounded by office buildings. Who wouldn\u2019t want to take a coffee break at a local, cozy coffee shop? I truly believe that when you offer someone something to eat, it will open the door for building relationships, and this is a key step to reaching them with the gospel. <\/em>Thank you for taking the time to read about this amazing opportunity God has placed in front of me. I am anxious to return as soon as possible to not only share tasty treats, but to also share the eternal treat that is our salvation in Jesus Christ. Jennifer Moore ha estado en el Ministerio de Misiones Mundiales desde 2011. Recientemente tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar con Centraal Caf\u00e9 en Amberes, B\u00e9lgica, junto con los misioneros de carrera, Bill y Gretchen Schwartz, durante dos meses y medio. "Si les das de comer, vendr\u00e1n". He escuchado a mi madre decir esta declaraci\u00f3n de parodia muchas veces a lo largo de mi vida. Siempre me re\u00eda cuando lo dec\u00eda, pero una y otra vez, lo he visto suceder.<\/em> <\/p>

Muchas veces a lo largo de las Escrituras vemos a Jes\u00fas comiendo con sus disc\u00edpulos, con pecadores e incluso con fariseos. Cada vez que come con alguien, tambi\u00e9n les ense\u00f1a. Cuando Jes\u00fas se encontr\u00f3 con Zaqueo, le dijo que deb\u00eda ser un invitado de Zaqueo. En esa cultura, esto significaba que estar\u00edan comiendo juntos. Debido a que Jes\u00fas se acerc\u00f3 a Zaqueo y desarroll\u00f3 una relaci\u00f3n con \u00e9l, el coraz\u00f3n de Zaqueo se abri\u00f3 a la verdad. Esto me recuerda otro principio que aprend\u00ed de mi madre: cuando se satisface el hambre f\u00edsica, la gente est\u00e1 dispuesta a permitirte satisfacer tu hambre espiritual tambi\u00e9n. Fue parcialmente con esto en mente que comenz\u00f3 mi deseo de ser parte de Coffee House Ministries.<\/em> <\/p>

Este verano, tuve la oportunidad de unirme al equipo en Amberes, B\u00e9lgica. Fui a ayudar en la apertura de Centraal Cafe y encontr\u00e9 la oportunidad de usar uno de los regalos que Dios me dio, la capacidad de hornear. No sonar mi propia bocina, pero soy bastante bueno en eso. Una de las ventajas de tener un panadero \u201cinterno\u201d es la capacidad de mantener precios muy asequibles para deliciosos productos horneados.<\/em> <\/p>

A pesar de estar all\u00ed por poco tiempo, pude conocer a algunas personas incre\u00edbles. Muchas personas de Christian Community, la planta de la iglesia en Amberes, vinieron a nuestras noches abiertas, pero tambi\u00e9n tuvimos a varias personas entrando por curiosidad. Fue en una de las noches de caf\u00e9 abierto que pude hablar m\u00e1s en profundidad con una de las damas que acababa de comenzar a venir a la iglesia. Se mud\u00f3 a Amberes desde Francia por trabajo y ten\u00eda muy poca formaci\u00f3n espiritual, pero estaba buscando m\u00e1s sentido en su vida. Ella es solo un ejemplo de las muchas personas que buscan desesperadamente la luz y el amor de Cristo. Que yo sepa, ella todav\u00eda asiste a Christian Community.<\/em> <\/p>

El caf\u00e9 tiene una ubicaci\u00f3n incre\u00edble. Est\u00e1 justo a lo largo del r\u00edo, justo al lado de una v\u00eda principal, y est\u00e1 rodeado de edificios de oficinas. \u00bfQui\u00e9n no querr\u00eda tomar un caf\u00e9 en una cafeter\u00eda local y acogedora? Realmente creo que cuando le ofreces algo de comer a alguien, se abrir\u00e1 la puerta para construir relaciones, y este es un paso clave para alcanzarlo con el Evangelio.<\/em> Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de leer sobre esta incre\u00edble oportunidad que Dios ha puesto frente a m\u00ed. Estoy ansioso por regresar lo antes posible para compartir no solo golosinas sabrosas, sino tambi\u00e9n el obsequio eterno que es nuestra salvaci\u00f3n en Jesucristo. \u00danase a m\u00ed para orar por la gente de B\u00e9lgica para que tenga corazones abiertos para recibir el amor de Jes\u00fas. \u00bfSe asociar\u00e1 conmigo y ser\u00e1 parte de esta gran historia que se desarrolla en Amberes, B\u00e9lgica?<\/em> <\/p>
