A very merry and joyful Christmas to you as we celebrate JESUS together!<\/p>\n

THANK YOU so much for being partners with us here in Brazil!<\/p>\n

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the world twice this year, God is still THE SPECIALIST, turning into good what the enemy meant for evil.<\/p>\n

For example, the new PAZ KIDS video outreach! Due to COVID-19, suddenly, children were no longer allowed to come to church anymore. We were faced with a huge challenge. Our church asked us to start an online weekly video production for kids. The church did not have the finances for such a project, but God miraculously provided through generous supporters!<\/p>\n

We used what we had:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Our four children and ourselves as actors, actresses, and teachers<\/p>\n

2. Our own apartment living room<\/p>\n

3. Some Christian children\u2019s videos which we translated to Portuguese (with permission)<\/p>\n

4. Our own character-building stories that we wrote<\/p>\n

5. Our own songs to teach Bible verses that we sang<\/p>\n

6. Our own cartoon characters and voices to illustrate biblical truths<\/p>\n

7. All the technical skills we could muster up<\/p>\n

After nine months of producing kids-videos every single week, we have improved our productions, and God is allowing us to reach children across Brazil!<\/p>\n

Through Bible stories, Bible verses, kids\u2019 praise, and life-lessons, the children learn about God\u2019s love, how to read the Bible, pray, worship, and have strong faith in Jesus. Thank you so much for your prayers that these videos will impact the kids' lives and that God would raise up an army of strong witnesses for Jesus all over Brazil and everywhere God takes them!<\/p>\n

Another miracle we experienced was the growth of our Life Group that met in our home. Before the pandemic, our Life Group had multiplied into four new Life Groups. During the pandemic, we could meet only through ZOOM, but it was amazing how peoples\u2019 interest in God actually increased, and the groups grew so much!<\/p>\n

We supervise several other Life Groups around the Sao Paulo area that are also growing. We pray for each leader to be encouraged as they spread the gospel and shepherd their flock.<\/p>\n

We also disciple several pastoral couples here in Sao Paulo and also in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Please pray for these couples as they care for their churches and Life groups and train new leaders.<\/p>\n

On a PERSONAL note, we are truly proud of our oldest son, Joshua! He has been attending a private high school, thanks to generous donors, and has completed his senior year with very high grades. That's not all; he has passed the entrance exams to three different medical schools here in Sao Paulo! He has worked hard, and we thank God for these extremely high grades!<\/p>\n

His goal is to eventually do medical missionary work in the isolated Amazon villages. When a doctor arrives at a village on one of our PAZ mission boats, many people flock to get free medical help. He can then share Jesus with them. Many times, a new church is planted as a result of these medical trips.<\/p>\n

The cheapest of the three medical schools that have accepted Joshua will cost about US$1,500 per month for six years, or 12 semesters. His only other option is to try to get into the Federal Medical School. But because it is free, only 150 students are accepted out of 30,000 applicants. It would probably take another year or two of prep school to possibly get a high enough grade to be one of those 150 applicants who get in. However, he's going to try! So this next year (in Brazil, the calendar year and the school year are the same, starting in January and ending in December), he is planning to enroll in a prep school to try to avoid the expensive private medical school tuition. Please pray with us that God's will be done!<\/p>\n

The prep school, however, is also expensive at $600 per month, but Joshua took a test and, because of high grades, received a 50 percent scholarship! If God puts it on your heart to donate toward his prep school or his dream to enroll in medical school, please let us know. We believe God to make his dream come true and help him bring the gospel to thousands of river villages in the Amazon that are yet without a church.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your financial support as we work hard together to reach the families of Brazil for Jesus! You are a very important part of the ministry here, as we can only be here because of your generous support! We simply could never thank God enough for you! La nueva vida de Miguel en Cristo<\/strong><\/span>
Un domingo, cuando Mateo estaba concluyendo su serm\u00f3n, Miguel se acerc\u00f3 al frente de la iglesia y dijo: \u201cQuiero entregar mi vida a Jesucristo ahora mismo. Quiero arrepentirme de todo pecado y vivir para \u00c9l ". <\/p>

Matthew or\u00f3 con y por Miguel, lo abraz\u00f3 y desde entonces ha disfrutado viendo el cambio que ha tenido lugar en su vida. Escuche c\u00f3mo Miguel describe su nueva vida. <\/p>

<\/p>

\u201cAntes de entregar mi vida a Cristo, viv\u00eda de noche. Me iba a la cama todas las ma\u00f1anas a las 6:00 am y luego me levantaba a las 6:00 o 7:00 pm para empezar de nuevo. Mi vida estaba llena de fiestas, drogas y bebida. Realmente no pude hacer mucho m\u00e1s porque luch\u00e9 contra la depresi\u00f3n y el miedo. Cada vez que volv\u00eda a casa, sent\u00eda que el vac\u00edo y la oscuridad ven\u00edan sobre m\u00ed, y clamaba a Dios: 'Quiero vivir otro tipo de vida'. <\/p>

Luego, ese domingo, sent\u00ed que ten\u00eda que planchar mi ropa e ir a la iglesia. De repente sent\u00ed que algo como la mano de Dios me empujaba a dar un paso al frente y entregar mi vida a Cristo. Desde ese momento, he disfrutado de un nuevo estilo de vida. Ahora, me acuesto temprano y me levanto a las 7:00 am. Estoy descubriendo una nueva productividad y la capacidad de hacer cosas que sent\u00ed que ya no pod\u00eda hacer. Las drogas devoran tu mente y tu motivaci\u00f3n para hacer cosas. Ahora, estoy redescubriendo mi antigua pasi\u00f3n por trabajar con mis manos y leer libros y la Biblia. Tambi\u00e9n tengo una relaci\u00f3n maravillosa con mi familia nuevamente. Durante a\u00f1os, han estado orando por m\u00ed, y ahora ellos (y yo) estamos muy felices de ver lo que Cristo ha hecho en mi vida. <\/p>

Despu\u00e9s de aceptar a Cristo, vinieron varios \u201cviejos amigos\u201d y me ofrecieron coca\u00edna para consumir y vender. Les dije de inmediato que hab\u00eda cambiado y que Cristo era ahora el Se\u00f1or de mi vida. Dijeron que el cambio no se mantendr\u00eda. Nunca m\u00e1s escuch\u00e9 una palabra de esos viejos amigos, pero estoy disfrutando de vivir mi vida como un hijo amado de Dios. No bebo alcohol ni consumo drogas porque ya no las necesito. Ya no estoy aislado. Tengo a Jes\u00fas y \u00c9l es suficiente para m\u00ed. <\/p>

Ahora le digo a Dios todos los d\u00edas: 'Dios, haz tu trabajo. No quiero volver nunca m\u00e1s '. Entonces, muchas veces, or\u00e9 para que \u00c9l me quitara todas mis adicciones. El lo hizo. El es fiel. Es solo Jesucristo quien se deshace de esas adicciones. Dios me ha ayudado a eliminar toda la depresi\u00f3n, la adicci\u00f3n y la tristeza. Mi vida tiene orden y enfoque ahora. <\/p>

Mi sue\u00f1o es alg\u00fan d\u00eda predicar la palabra de Dios. Siento que hay un llamado de Dios en mi vida. Dios ha sido muy bueno con migo. \u00c9l toma vasos rotos y los cambia, repara, reforma y reconstruye. Esto es lo que Dios ha hecho y est\u00e1 haciendo en mi vida. No voy a retroceder, pero sigo adelante con Cristo porque \u00e9l tiene un gran prop\u00f3sito para mi vida. Le agradezco porque estoy recuperando mi vida y ya no estoy aislado ni solo \u201d. <\/p>

La crisis del virus Corona<\/strong><\/span>
La Crisis del Virus Corona ha cerrado el Barrio Rojo de \u00c1msterdam. Femke ha pasado largos d\u00edas ayudando a las trabajadoras sexuales a obtener la ayuda financiera y social que pueden obtener a medida que se cerr\u00f3 la industria del sexo. Los estamos ayudando con canastas de comestibles y tarjetas de regalo para tiendas de comestibles. Mucha gente de todo el pa\u00eds nos est\u00e1 pidiendo ayuda. Qu\u00e9 oportunidad de ser una voz de esperanza, amor y vida en esta dif\u00edcil situaci\u00f3n. <\/p>

Ministerio latinoamericano<\/strong><\/span>
En febrero, Matthew pudo llevar un equipo de ministerio a Argentina y Chile para capacitar iglesias en el ministerio prof\u00e9tico. En Chile, fueron parte de una conferencia nacional con m\u00e1s de 1.500 j\u00f3venes. Matthew naci\u00f3 en Chile, por lo que fue un placer muy especial poder ministrar en su tierra natal. Muchas gracias por ayudarnos a llevar el amor, la luz y el poder de Dios a \u00c1msterdam, Europa, Am\u00e9rica Latina y m\u00e1s all\u00e1. <\/p>
