My goal is to prepare them for dynamic children’s ministry work in the post COVID era while leading children to be engaged in missions and prayer. Thank you for being a part of this ministry, serving as a team. This year, I am enrolled with KidMin Academy Excel Course online to develop as a coach and mentor. This course will help me to become more successful in preparing for effective ministry in the post COVID era. Your prayers and support throughout my serving term on the field is reflecting great faithfulness and commitment to the Great Commission. I thank God for you.

Specifically, I thank God for the Reed family, who has stepped in as the strategic seed sowers to impact students in Africa, developing strategic leaders. We now have two students from Malawi who are attending the Children’s Ministry Institute in Zambia. Chimwemwe Kaduya and Robert Kaphamtengo are learning well and will be in Zambia for three months, doing intensive training and becoming trainers of trainers. I believe God handpicked these two leaders. Brother Kaduya was dropped off with one suitcase at the Mwanza border between Malawi and Mozambique in 2006. His assignment was to plant a church, and he accomplished it very well. Seven years later, I picked him up with his wife and six children. He was voted to assist the national leader and with the needs at Guthrie Bible Training Centre. He needed to move to Blantyre to accomplish these tasks. He has served at the school since 2013 and was appointed as the national children’s ministry leader last year.

Robert is the son of the eldest church member of the PHC in Malawi. Robert desires to study law, and he is still hoping to raise his school fees since he had to drop out after two years in law school. He began teaching at a school and was appointed as the assistant to Rev. Kaduya. Keep them in prayer as they learn and plan the way forward for effective ministry development in Malawi. Also, pray that they will build a well-equipped teaching team to multiply teachers and for the building capacity to reach more children. In the picture, Rev. Kaduya is on the right and Robert on the left. Keep them in your prayers.

Thank God with us that even amid COVID and keeping the rules, 40 students enrolled in the Sunday School Teacher’s Training, hosted by the City Pentecostal Church in Blantyre. This training will run from June to August. During this training, Child Evangelism Fellowship Teaching Team will help Sunday school teachers develop their own lessons to present a dynamic lesson hour, ministering to both unsaved and saved children. They will also be trained to bring children to the application of God’s Word during the Sunday School hour. This training is presented for free, thanks to every supporter.

Althea Teaching Subject: “Teachers Who Touch Lives”

In January, Movement for African National Initiatives sent me an invitation to volunteer as a coordinator for Southern Africa through the executive director of the Children in Mission Network. The prayer day was also running on the Zoom platform for 12 hours. Each country that participated worked with their children’s prayer teams and took part in the prayer day nationwide, where their groups could meet via Zoom. The coordinating work was done through WhatsApp, which worked very well as a means of communication in Africa, as well as for mobilizing coordinators nationally to join and lead children’s prayer groups in their homes, churches, areas, schools, etc.

During the process, from the day I participated to the prayer day, a flood of excitement rushed through my heart. Observing the participation of the children flooded my eyes with streaming tears and deep thoughts of what could be happening in Heaven’s throne room. I kept on seeing a vision of a very pleased smile on God’s face. This prayer thrust is intended to bring an urgent activity to alert and to help children engage more in missions and prayer for missions. The WhatsApp groups remain open as a leadership training platform to coach and mentor children’s workers to another level of effectiveness. This will help to share more resources and bring great encouragement to prepare ourselves for His greater work.

Daniel with Child Patient

At the Cure International Children’s Orthopedic Hospital in Blantyre, we have an open door for ministry as a children’s ministry team.
