The Awakening South Africa Base is officially open with boots on the ground.<\/p>\n

In December 2019, a board room in South Africa became a birthing room as 8 members of The Awakening team gathered to hear the voice of the Lord, to pray, and to plan. It was there that we heard Him clearly. It was there that we wept as our hearts were moved. It was there where we saw a glimpse of what God intends for this region. Now, on September 23, 2021 two of our three Awakening South Africa Base staff officially touched down in South Africa again, only this time, to stay and officially open The Awakening South Africa Base.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve clearly heard the word of the Lord, to move throughout Southern Africa doing just what The Awakening does at every base \u2013 to disciple, equip, resource, and mobilize a generation into the harvest. We are sure of one thing \u2013 The mission is the Lord\u2019s. He is the one in charge. He has simply asked us to be willing and we have answered with a resounding, \u201cHere am I, Lord. Send me.\u201d<\/p>\n

From 2019 to now, we have seen the hand of the Lord. He has entrusted us with the charge to make His name great, to raise up not only believers, but those who will press in to the call of God on their lives. We are here because we believe Him. We believe His promises. We trust His faithfulness. We\u2019ve seen His goodness. We are here because we believe there is a reviving of a generation to take place across Southern Africa. We\u2019ve seen it. We\u2019ve heard the sound. We know it\u2019s coming. So, we take our place.<\/p>\n

As we begin this journey we look to the past, to the present, and to the future. We honor the past. We see the price that has been paid to pave the way all these years before us. We celebrate in the now as we joyfully partner alongside IPHC ministry leaders and missionaries on the ground. We await the future in expectancy of what we know the Lord will do. He is faithful!<\/p>\n

May the sound of heaven break open over Africa, and all over the world.<\/p>\n

Whitney was born and raised in West Virginia before graduating from Bluefield College in Virginia with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Communication. Combining her passion to see God glorified worldwide and her experience in communication, she joined The Awakening in 2018 as the Coordinator of Public Relations and Communication. \"La<\/a>Valley Harvest Ministries (VHM) en la Conferencia de los Apalaches proporciona un estudio de caso sobre los beneficios de formar una sociedad entre la iglesia local y el campo misionero.<\/p>

Los misioneros Jeff y Verna Willhoite se convirtieron en miembros de VHM despu\u00e9s de haber ingresado a la IPHC desde otra organizaci\u00f3n misionera. Naturalmente, VHM apoy\u00f3 financieramente a los Willhoites, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n ayud\u00f3 a otros misioneros y varios proyectos. Sin embargo, hace unos diez a\u00f1os, el pastor Steve Willis y la junta de misiones de la iglesia fueron llevados a alejarse de un enfoque de \u201cescopeta\u201d en sus esfuerzos misioneros, con la esperanza de lograr un mayor impacto al concentrarse en un solo proyecto.<\/p>

Otra cosa es experimentar las vistas, los sonidos, los olores, los sabores y el clima por uno mismo, as\u00ed como dedicar tiempo a conocer a los nacionales y aprender sobre su ministerio y forma de vida.<\/p>

Desde entonces, el pastor Steve ha llevado a varios miembros de la congregaci\u00f3n a un viaje anual a Maesai, ubicado en el \u00e1rea del Tri\u00e1ngulo Dorado del norte de Tailandia. \u201cEste tipo de experiencia pr\u00e1ctica y pr\u00e1ctica les ayuda a apropiarse de un proyecto\u201d, dice.<\/p>

El enfoque de sus esfuerzos ha sido el Centro de Discipulado del Mekong (MDC), una instalaci\u00f3n para capacitar a l\u00edderes, pastores, plantadores de iglesias y misioneros para Tailandia, Myanmar, Laos y China. Los equipos anuales de VHM realizan capacitaci\u00f3n en liderazgo y \/ o trabajos de construcci\u00f3n en la instalaci\u00f3n.<\/p>

Junto con la junta de misiones de la iglesia, el pastor Steve se ha fijado la meta de recaudar $ 10,000 durante el a\u00f1o para el proyecto MDC. \u201cSobrenaturalmente, la financiaci\u00f3n siempre entra, al igual que los gastos de viaje para aquellos que han viajado al campo\u201d, dice. En diez a\u00f1os, han invertido alrededor de $ 100,000 en el MDC, as\u00ed como entre $ 500 y $ 700 por mes en apoyo misional. Los resultados sobre el terreno en Maesai son claramente visibles, tanto en el campus del MDC como en los diversos ministerios que tienen lugar all\u00ed.<\/p>

Aunque los Willhoites se fueron de Tailandia hace varios a\u00f1os para tomar un pastorado, la asociaci\u00f3n entre VHM y el proyecto MDC ha continuado sin interrupci\u00f3n. El pastor Steve y otros l\u00edderes de VHM han desarrollado una relaci\u00f3n de tutor\u00eda con Chang, el joven preparado por Jeff para servir como Director de MDC. Chang, un hombre de muchos talentos y mucho celo, comparte su visi\u00f3n con el pastor Steve y lo busca en busca de orientaci\u00f3n y aliento. Los dos pueden mantenerse en contacto durante todo el a\u00f1o a trav\u00e9s de las redes sociales.<\/p>

\u00bfC\u00f3mo ha afectado esta asociaci\u00f3n a la congregaci\u00f3n local de VHM? \u201cEstoy convencido de que Dios ha puesto su mano en nuestros esfuerzos y nos ha bendecido enormemente al obedecer su mandato de llevar el evangelio a todo el mundo\u201d, dice el pastor Steve. \u201cTailandia est\u00e1 lo m\u00e1s lejos posible de Dublin Virginia, sin embargo, el Se\u00f1or ha extendido el ministerio de VHM literalmente al otro lado del mundo. Me siento tan bien con esto como con cualquier cosa que hayamos hecho durante 44 a\u00f1os de ministerio a tiempo completo ".<\/p>

Jeff recomienda encarecidamente el enfoque espec\u00edfico de una asociaci\u00f3n profunda y duradera entre el misionero y la congregaci\u00f3n local.
