Things have been changing and unpredictable more than ever over the last several years: wars, pandemics, inflation, and unrest. Yet, we have always lived on the precipice of these possibilities. However, we know that no matter what unfolds around us, we have comfort in knowing God is still in control of all things. Thus, we continue all the more to bring the wonderful news of the gospel and comfort to the people who are still living in fear and darkness. In Japan, there is so much pressure to succeed and surpass their peers in school. Most kids go to a cram school after school to study for another four to five hours before returning home to do their homework. They often go to a cram school on the weekends for eight to ten hours of more study as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">Due to the pandemic, many of the school clubs and sports have been canceled. However, instead of having more free time, the children have replaced those activities with more study. We have been so blessed to be able to keep our English conversation school open over the past year. We teach the children English in a light and fun atmosphere where they can come to learn without a lot of pressure. The most important thing we do is read Bible stories in English.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4706\" style=\"width: 430px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4706\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4706\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3.jpg\" alt=\"Eryn, Reading Moses' Story\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/3-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4706\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eryn, Reading Moses' Story<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">We recently read the story of Moses and God parting the Red Sea. We were able to share with the children that, just like when God made a safe way out for the Israelites when they were surrounded by various obstacles like Pharaoh\u2019s army and the Red Sea, He is also able to make a safe way out for each one of them as well whether it is a problem at school, in their family, or with their peers. Please pray with us that God will use these stories to bring each one of these children and their families to a personal relationship with the Savior. Also, pray with us that God will bring more students and families to our school. We have several spots open, and we want to reach as many families as possible with the good news of the gospel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">We were so thankful for the ability to go to America for Justin\u2019s wedding. Justin met his wife, Rachel, at Liberty. She also graduated in December with a double major in ESL and Global Studies. Eryn\u2019s father, Russell Board, officiated the ceremony at Rachel\u2019s home church in Franklin, Virginia. Please pray with us for Justin and Rachel as they begin their life together anchored in God. Justin will be an assistant professor of Theology at Liberty while he pursues his master\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with us. Es el mismo ayer, hoy y ma\u00f1ana. Independientemente de cu\u00e1n inconstante sea el mundo o cu\u00e1n inconstante sea la econom\u00eda, sabemos que Dios tiene todas las cosas en Sus manos. Podemos encontrar consuelo y paz en Dios sin importar lo que suceda a nuestro alrededor. Nos duele el coraz\u00f3n cuando miramos a nuestro alrededor y vemos el miedo y la incertidumbre en los rostros de los japoneses. <\/p><p> Frente a la pandemia de COVID-19, la ciudad de Chofu, una ciudad vecina a Saitama donde vivimos, ha ofrecido una descarga gratuita de un legendario monstruo anti-plaga, Amabie. Sugieren que las personas usen la imagen para ayudar a prevenir el coronavirus. Buscamos todas las oportunidades para compartir la esperanza que tenemos en Cristo con los japoneses para que no sientan la necesidad de recurrir a monstruos imaginarios en busca de falsas esperanzas. <\/p><p><\/p><p> Tuvimos que cancelar nuestras clases de conversaci\u00f3n en ingl\u00e9s para el mes de abril, pero pudimos comenzar de nuevo en mayo en Zoom. Hemos echado de menos interactuar en persona con nuestros estudiantes y sus familias, pero estamos agradecidos de haber podido seguir vi\u00e9ndolos virtualmente. Nos ha dado la oportunidad de comunicarnos tanto con las mam\u00e1s como con los pap\u00e1s, lo cual es raro ya que generalmente est\u00e1n en el trabajo. Sin embargo, dado que muchos de los pap\u00e1s han estado trabajando desde casa y los ni\u00f1os est\u00e1n estudiando en casa, ambos padres han tenido la oportunidad de participar en nuestras clases. Ore con nosotros para que las palabras de aliento que compartimos apunten a nuestros estudiantes y sus padres hacia Dios y Su perd\u00f3n que es para todas las personas. <\/p><p> Hiro ha podido realizar nuestras lecciones de escuela dominical en l\u00ednea. Estamos agradecidos de poder seguir compartiendo el amor de Dios con los ni\u00f1os en nuestra escuela dominical, incluso cuando no podemos estar con ellos f\u00edsicamente. Los pap\u00e1s de nuestros ni\u00f1os de la Escuela Dominical no asisten a la iglesia. Ore con nosotros para que los mensajes que los ni\u00f1os escuchan en casa puedan tener un impacto en el coraz\u00f3n de sus padres tambi\u00e9n. <\/p><p> Estamos muy agradecidos de que incluso entre todos los vuelos cancelados y las actividades canceladas, Justin pudo terminar su primer a\u00f1o en Liberty University con \u00e9xito y pudo regresar a Jap\u00f3n para el verano. Estamos muy agradecidos por este tiempo juntos antes de que Justin regrese a la universidad y Ax se una a \u00e9l en su primer a\u00f1o de universidad.
