We are experiencing and hearing of church attendance growing beyond our expectations, and many new converts are experiencing the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>SOUTHERN AFRICA COUNTRIES: HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ADVANCE SCHOOL OF MINISTRY - <\/strong><\/span>Advance School of Ministry still empowers leaders in the Southern region of Africa. Many leaders developed their foundational skills sitting under the instructors of ASM. Today, many conference leaders serving in the Southern Africa region attended ASM and have become outstanding leaders.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>BOTSWANA - <\/strong><\/span>The church in Botswana has been stable for many years and is growing slowly. They have a strong leadership base. With a population of 2.5 million people, Botswana is ranked 3<sup>rd<\/sup> among 47 countries in Sub-Sahara economically. Unemployment is currently at 24.7%, one of the lowest in Africa. Generally, people are well educated and have suitable employment.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ESWATINI (SWAZILAND) - <\/strong><\/span>The church in Eswatini has experienced some difficulties due to the economic challenges the country is facing. Job opportunities are limited; thus, people move from one place to another looking for jobs, and the church becomes unstable. I recently met with all the leaders to re-align the church's vision. We believe in God for a breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>MADAGASCAR - <\/strong><\/span>Pastors Tojo and Deborah Ranaivoarimanana are doing exceptional work in Madagascar. The church building project in Antananarivo is progressing well, and they are planning the church dedication for March next year. They still have a weekly service in the municipal hall on Tuesdays at mid-day. They have also planted a church in the south of the island and the city's surrounding area. People to People Ministries is assisting them with funds for their feeding programs. 80% of Madagascar's residents live in rural areas, thus the influx of people living in the cities on the streets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/madagascar.middayservice.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5173 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/madagascar.middayservice.jpg\" alt=\"Tuesday Mid-Day Service\" width=\"433\" height=\"325\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/madagascar.newchurchbuilding.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5174 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/madagascar.newchurchbuilding.jpg\" alt=\"New Church Building\" width=\"691\" height=\"328\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>MALAWI - <\/strong><\/span>Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the region and the devaluation of the Malawi Kwacha by 25% in May of this year has not helped the people to sustain themselves. The Malawi PHC vision for planting more churches is progressing well, and People to People Ministries regularly supports the pastors' children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/malawi.Conference-Centre-Construction-Blantyre.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5175 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/malawi.Conference-Centre-Construction-Blantyre.jpg\" alt=\"Conference Center Construction - Blantyre\" width=\"363\" height=\"142\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/malawi.mens-ministry.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5166 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/malawi.mens-ministry.jpg\" alt=\"Malawi Men's Ministry\" width=\"435\" height=\"326\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>MAURITIUS - <\/strong><\/span>Rev. Althea Meyer has invested much time in Mauritius by developing the children's ministry program in poverty-stricken areas of the island. It has been amazing to see churches planted out of the weekly children's programs. Rev. Leopold and his wife Joyce are very committed to the church's growth on the island.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>MOZAMBIQUE - <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique PHC is moving forward even amid many challenges. Bishop Rui Chichava, the National Overseer, is very committed to the church's vision as a whole and always stays in contact with the different provinces' superintendents. We are thankful to donors for assisting with church-building projects. We have had numerous mud and thatch churches replaced by brick-and-mortar buildings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Montepuez-PHC-Northern-Mozambique.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5172 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Montepuez-PHC-Northern-Mozambique.jpg\" alt=\"Montepuez PHC Northern Mozambique\" width=\"392\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>RODRIGUES - <\/strong><\/span>The volcanic island of Rodrigues is a territory of Mauritius with a population of 45,000. Reverend Ricardo Mercure has been an IPHC member since 2006 and is also ministering in Madagascar, Reunion, and Seychelles islands. The Source De Vie Church (Source of Life) has used a rented building for many years and this year they purchased a house which they are converting into a church. I was happy to assist them with some funding for the project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/rodrigueschurchconstruction2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5171 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/rodrigueschurchconstruction2.png\" alt=\"Construction of the New Church in Rodrigues\" width=\"241\" height=\"149\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/rodrigueschurchconstruction.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5170\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/rodrigueschurchconstruction.png\" alt=\"Construction of the New Church in Rodrigues\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>SOUTH AFRICA - <\/strong><\/span>South Africa is facing many challenges. Corruption, rape, murder, incest, human trafficking, carjackings, armed robbery, daily power outages, and much more have become everyday occurrences. Although the church in this country is doing well and growing, it has to influence society with the life-changing gospel of Jesus. I have assisted in some areas of the country with funding for church-building initiatives. The church is becoming a collective place for communities who need assistance with education and community development.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/sa.kznbethelchurch.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5169 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/sa.kznbethelchurch.jpg\" alt=\"Bethel Worship Center in KZN\" width=\"515\" height=\"301\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/shalomassembly.sa_.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5168 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/shalomassembly.sa_.jpg\" alt=\"Shalom Assembly in Port Elizabeth\" width=\"395\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>TANZANIA - <\/strong><\/span>Drought has affected many parts of Tanzania this year, primarily rural areas. People depend on water sources to grow their crops, and for daily requirements. Bethel Life Worship Center in Greenville, PA, generously donated funds for a water well (borehole) drilled in a rural area of Iringa in Tanzania. It is one of the most rewarding experiences when drilling a well, and suddenly water gushes out of the hole. It is truly life-giving.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/tanzania.waterwell.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5177 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/tanzania.waterwell.jpg\" alt=\"Drilling a Water Well\" width=\"778\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/tanzania.waterwell.jpg 778w, https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/tanzania.waterwell-768x435.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 778px) 100vw, 778px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ZAMBIA - <\/strong><\/span>Zambia PHC has had church planting and evangelism in its DNA for many years and is the number one church-planting country in Southern Africa. They have 986 churches and are growing. Recently, they established their seventh conference called Mosi-oa-Tunya. Mosi-oa-Tunya means, \"The Smoke That Thunders,\" which is well known worldwide as a reference to Victoria Falls.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ZIMBABWE - <\/strong><\/span>In September I had the privilege to preside over the Zimbabwe General Conference elections. The conference was well attended considering the economic hardships people face in the country, and Bishop Jonathan Chatendeuka was re-elected as Presiding Bishop. The church in Zimbabwe is planting new churches under severe difficulties and their goal is to plant 160 new churches by the year 2033 in alignment with the \"Arise 2033\" vision. Han pasado cuarenta a\u00f1os desde que Pol Pot y su Khmer Rouge mataron a m\u00e1s de dos millones de personas en un intento de establecer una utop\u00eda agraria comunista, pero el legado de esos a\u00f1os del holocausto todav\u00eda se puede observar en una grave falta de infraestructura, educaci\u00f3n, oportunidades y esperanza. Menos del 1% de los camboyanos conocen a Jesucristo como Se\u00f1or y Salvador.\r\n\r\nEn septiembre, Russell ayud\u00f3 a organizar y dirigir un equipo ministerial a Camboya para llevar a cabo una serie de cl\u00ednicas m\u00e9dicas en varias aldeas. Los miembros del equipo vinieron de Carolina del Norte, Carolina del Sur, Georgia, Jap\u00f3n y Filipinas.\r\n\r\nLas condiciones a menudo eran r\u00fasticas, ya que ten\u00edamos cl\u00ednicas en las iglesias del pueblo. En un lugar, los funcionarios locales nos obligaron a cerrar. Adem\u00e1s de ofrecer atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica b\u00e1sica y palabras de esperanza y aliento, los miembros del equipo tambi\u00e9n oraron por los pacientes que buscaron su ayuda. \u00a1La oraci\u00f3n es la mejor medicina de todas!\r\n\r\nJunto con el personal m\u00e9dico, tuvimos la suerte de contar con un contingente de j\u00f3venes sobresalientes para ministrar a los ni\u00f1os en cada lugar. \u00a1Estamos orgullosos de decir que nuestro nieto Alex fue parte de este equipo din\u00e1mico!\r\n\r\n\u00a1Los ni\u00f1os disfrutaron jugando juegos al aire libre, haciendo manualidades, escuchando historias de la Biblia, aprendiendo canciones del evangelio y simplemente divirti\u00e9ndose! \u00a1Lo mejor de todo es que los ni\u00f1os aprendieron a orar a Jes\u00fas y tuvieron la oportunidad de ofrecerle sus vidas!\r\n\r\nEn a\u00f1os pasados, hemos invertido tiempo, esfuerzo y financiamiento en viajes similares, ayudando a trabajos pioneros y cavando pozos para las aldeas. \u00a1En este viaje, nos complaci\u00f3 especialmente ver el fruto de estas inversiones en forma de nuevas y pr\u00f3speras iglesias!\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>PUNTOS PARA LA ORACI\u00d3N<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\u2022 Ore para que las iglesias en Camboya no sean oprimidas y restringidas en sus actividades, sino que tengan libertad para adorar y difundir el evangelio.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Nuestras iglesias est\u00e1n ayudando a los j\u00f3venes en sus comunidades ense\u00f1ando ingl\u00e9s y ofreciendo capacitaci\u00f3n en inform\u00e1tica. Ore para que los j\u00f3venes est\u00e9n equipados para servir al Se\u00f1or y traer prosperidad a su naci\u00f3n.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Ore por el misionero que dirige nuestro trabajo en Camboya, Rev. Merlen Lamanilao de Filipinas.
