Dawson and Josephine Carlton Dawson.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Fae Creasy Dawson.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Dawson started his calling in 1959 when he attended Holmes Bible College. He later served as a missionary from 1963 until 1974 in Southern Africa and finished his sixty-five-year career at Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved reading the Bible and studying its pages.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his sons, Allan Dawson, Jr., Anthony Guston Dawson, Dwain Eugene Dawson, and Zane Montgomery Dawson; sister, Joyce D. Rice; brother, D. Robert Dawson; grandchildren, Alex Dawson, Christian Dawson, Deanna Nicols, and Kayla Rea; and great-grandchildren, Karaline Dawson, Kayden Dawson, Allison Dawson, Axel Dawson, Hayden Nicols, Sophie Nicols, Tavius Walker, and Desiree Walker.<\/p>\n<p>The visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Jonathan Goins officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Wright Funeral Service &amp; Crematory is serving the family. Allen Dawson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Allen Dawson and his late wife Lillie Dawson served as WMM missionaries to Southern Africa from 1964 to 1974. The Dawsons&#8217; ministry focused mainly on the three countries of Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia, and Nyasaland (now known as Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Dawson spent five days a week teaching at Emmanuel Bible School in Northern Rhodesia, conducted District Conferences, and preached weekend services in churches throughout all three countries\u2014\u201cendeavoring to keep them going,\u201d he wrote in a communique World Missions has since archived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In their 10 years, Dawson served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Conference in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia, was President at the Bible School, translated songbooks into local languages, helped with building projects, and started seven congregations in Zimbabwe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cI loved the countries and all I did there,\u201d Dawson wrote. \u201cI was always happy there and thank God for those precious ten years of service to my Lord and our Church. I love missions and the mission fields.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">WMM Executive Director J. Talmadge Gardner shared, \u201cThe impact the Revs. Allen and Lillie Dawson made in the Kingdom contributed to the growth of the Pentecostal Holiness Church throughout Southern Africa.
