Greetings from the Bartons in the Philippines!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lord has continued to open doors for us over the past year.<\/p>\n

Remy was re-elected to the Central Luzon Conference (CLC) board during the elections held last November 2023. She was also re-appointed as the conference representative to the National Board in the Philippines. In addition to this, she was also re-appointed by the CLC board to be the adviser of Youth Quest until the end of her current term on the board. She continues to work with our son Ethan, who was re-elected by the young people as the Vice President of Youth Quest during the election held in February. This will be Ethan\u2019s last term as a Youth Quest officer, as he will be over age by the time of the next election in 2026.<\/p>\n

The Youth Quest officers have put together a series of youth conferences over the summer for the three districts in the CLC. These conferences had the theme \u201cWalk the Talk\u201d based on James 1:22. These conferences bring young people from different churches together for an afternoon of fellowship and listening to the Word. These conferences also include a time for group discussion, where the youth leaders and pastors can discuss the message in detail, answer questions, and pray for the young people. The District 1 Fellowship was held on May 26 in Binbinaca, Mayantoc, with 68 young people from eight churches in attendance. The District 2 fellowship was held on June 23 at our home church in San Jose de Urquico, Tarlac City, with 128 young people from nine churches in attendance. Ethan was the speaker at the District 3 fellowship, which was held on July 28 in Balayang, Victoria. There were 71 young people from 10 different churches in attendance.<\/p>\n

Youth Quest is also planning a youth camp that will be held this December 26 \u2013 28. The theme of this camp will be \u201cAscend,\u201d based on Psalm 24:3-4.<\/p>\n

Remy continues to serve as the assistant pastor of the church in San Jose de Urquico, Tarlac City. Her responsibilities include speaking every fifth Sunday of the month and translating for me (Douglas) when I speak at the church.<\/p>\n

Ethan is continuing his ministry as a youth leader at the church in San Jose de Urquico. His responsibilities include speaking to the young people during their virtual fellowships, which are held every week, and facilitating their face-to-face fellowships, which are held twice a month. He is also continuing his music ministry in Urquico, where he plays the keyboard and leads worship.<\/p>\n

\r\n\r\nNuestros amados socios y amigos,<\/strong>\r\n\r\nEstamos agradecidos con Dios por el privilegio de continuar sirvi\u00e9ndole como misioneros aqu\u00ed en Tailandia desde 2001. Gracias por sus continuas oraciones y apoyo inquebrantable. Regresamos a Tailandia con acci\u00f3n de gracias en nuestros corazones el 24 de mayo, despu\u00e9s de nuestro permiso de seis meses en los Estados Unidos. Realmente disfrutamos nuestro tiempo con ustedes, nuestros parientes, amigos y nuestra encantadora hija, Liza. Nos conmovi\u00f3 inmensamente su amabilidad, c\u00e1lida hospitalidad y generosidad. Muchas gracias!\r\n\r\n\u00a1Alabado sea el Se\u00f1or! Hubo cinco budistas que recibieron al Se\u00f1or Jesucristo recientemente en nuestra iglesia en Don Muang, Bangkok, en diferentes servicios dominicales. Adem\u00e1s, el n\u00famero de miembros est\u00e1 aumentando, incluidos los ni\u00f1os. Oramos y esperamos comprar la propiedad junto a nuestra iglesia. Esta iglesia es la primera iglesia de IPHC en Tailandia.\r\n\r\nMi viaje a Ceb\u00fa, Filipinas, del 17 al 24 de junio, para una reuni\u00f3n familiar y participaci\u00f3n en conferencias en dos iglesias de IPHC fue incre\u00edble. Hubo tres personas que se salvaron, y pude alentar a mi familia, incluidos mis primos y mis hermanos y hermanas biol\u00f3gicos, al compartir la palabra de que nuestra esperanza est\u00e1 en Jesucristo. Regres\u00e9 a casa en Tailandia, alabando y glorificando al Dios Todopoderoso.\r\nAgradecemos a Dios por sus continuas bendiciones sobre el ministerio. Durante nuestra reuni\u00f3n trimestral en Bangkok, el 5 de julio, se inform\u00f3 que se plantaron varias iglesias y se agregaron nuevas iglesias independientes al IPHC Tailandia. Ahora estamos a punto de llegar a 80 iglesias de 70 en enero. El Seminario Teol\u00f3gico de Tailandia (TTS) tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 progresando. Ahora hay cinco sucursales escolares al lado del TTS principal en Petchabun. Estos se encuentran en Bangkok, Petshanulok, Phraea, Pattaya y Mae Sai.\r\n\r\nAgradecemos a Dios por fortalecer nuestra relaci\u00f3n con el gobierno tailand\u00e9s, no solo en las \u00e1reas de Bangkok, sino tambi\u00e9n en las provincias, ayud\u00e1ndoles a llevar a cabo sus programas. Tuvimos una reuni\u00f3n maravillosa con el gobernador y el vicegobernador de la provincia de Petchabun, incluido el jefe del Departamento de Desarrollo Social y Bienestar y funcionarios del distrito escolar el 26 de junio.
