We put together an international team from America, Japan and the Philippines to reach out to several villages in southeastern Thailand where some of these refugee families have settled.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6430\" style=\"width: 503px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/mission-team.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6430\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6430\" src=\"https:\/\/iphc.org\/missions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/mission-team.jpg\" alt=\"The mission team to Thailand.\" width=\"493\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6430\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The mission team to Thailand.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Many of these refugees are Christians, from ethnic tribes oppressed by the majority Buddhist Burmese. We set up clinics in village churches to provide care that is often unavailable or unaffordable to the refugees. They played with balls and balloons, and enjoyed candy and treats. It was a great joy to see their smiles and hear their laughter.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord opened a door for us to enter two public schools where the team could minister to the children sent out class by class. We were inspired to see how the village was banding together to build a large church where they could worship the Lord who always cared for them and provided for their needs. Han pasado cuarenta a\u00f1os desde que Pol Pot y su Khmer Rouge mataron a m\u00e1s de dos millones de personas en un intento de establecer una utop\u00eda agraria comunista, pero el legado de esos a\u00f1os del holocausto todav\u00eda se puede observar en una grave falta de infraestructura, educaci\u00f3n, oportunidades y esperanza. Menos del 1% de los camboyanos conocen a Jesucristo como Se\u00f1or y Salvador.\r\n\r\nEn septiembre, Russell ayud\u00f3 a organizar y dirigir un equipo de ministerio a Camboya para realizar una serie de cl\u00ednicas m\u00e9dicas en varias aldeas. Los miembros del equipo proced\u00edan de Carolina del Norte, Carolina del Sur, Georgia, Jap\u00f3n y Filipinas.\r\n\r\nLas condiciones eran a menudo r\u00fasticas ya que llev\u00e1bamos a cabo cl\u00ednicas en las iglesias de las aldeas. En un lugar, los funcionarios locales nos obligaron a cerrar. El gobierno budista autoritario vigila de cerca y en ocasiones restringe las actividades de los cristianos.\r\n\r\nEn otras aldeas, las autoridades enviaron polic\u00edas y m\u00e9dicos locales para observarnos, pero estos se fueron impresionados por la experiencia y la amabilidad de nuestro equipo. \u00a1Incluso se unieron al trabajo y nos invitaron a volver!\r\n\r\nLas madres j\u00f3venes estaban agradecidas de recibir vitaminas y medicamentos para las enfermedades de sus hijos, mientras que los ancianos estaban encantados de recibir anteojos para leer. Adem\u00e1s de ofrecer atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica b\u00e1sica y palabras de esperanza y aliento, los miembros del equipo tambi\u00e9n oraron por los pacientes que buscaron su ayuda. \u00a1La oraci\u00f3n es la mejor medicina de todas!\r\n\r\nJunto con el personal m\u00e9dico, tuvimos la bendici\u00f3n de tener un contingente de j\u00f3venes sobresalientes para ministrar a los ni\u00f1os en cada lugar. \u00a1Estamos orgullosos de decir que nuestro nieto Alex fue parte de este din\u00e1mico equipo!\r\n\r\nLos ni\u00f1os disfrutaron jugando juegos al aire libre, haciendo manualidades, escuchando historias b\u00edblicas, aprendiendo canciones del evangelio y \u00a1simplemente divirti\u00e9ndose! Lo mejor de todo es que los ni\u00f1os aprendieron a orarle a Jes\u00fas y tuvieron la oportunidad de ofrecerle sus vidas.\r\n\r\nEn a\u00f1os pasados, hemos invertido tiempo, esfuerzo y financiamiento en viajes similares, ayudando a trabajos pioneros y cavando pozos para aldeas. En este viaje, nos complaci\u00f3 especialmente ver el fruto de estas inversiones en la forma de florecer nuevas iglesias.\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>PUNTOS PARA LA ORACI\u00d3N<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\u2022 Ore para que las iglesias en Camboya no sean oprimidas y restringidas en sus actividades, sino que tengan libertad para adorar y difundir el evangelio.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Nuestras iglesias est\u00e1n ayudando a los j\u00f3venes en sus comunidades al ense\u00f1ar ingl\u00e9s y ofrecer capacitaci\u00f3n en computaci\u00f3n.
