World Missions Appoints Two New Regional Directors<\/span><\/b><\/h1>\n

- World Missions Ministries Communications Office<\/em><\/p>\n

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. \u2013 On February 6, 2025, World Missions Ministries (WMM) Executive Director Bishop Talmadge Gardner, in consultation with the WMM Council, appointed two new Regional Directors: Missionary Edgar Banaga as the new Regional Director over the Indo-Pacific, and Missionary Christopher Dunlap as the new Regional Director over the Caribbean and West Indies.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegional Directors serve a very important role in our World Missions Ministries team,\u201d Gardner said. \u201cThey not only provide field care for members of our missionary family within their designated countries of authority but are also our primary connection and liaison to national leaders and pastors in the countries within their region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Banaga and Dunlap are the newest of 13 Regional Directors<\/a> who serve the Lord faithfully and sacrificially around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor several years now, I have been praying that the Lord would send us missionaries with this unique gift mix in specific regions to serve in this capacity. The Lord is answering those prayers,\u201d Gardner said.<\/p>\n

Missionary Edgar Banaga, the new Regional Director of the Indo-Pacific Region, with his wife Rosana.<\/p><\/div>\n

Edgar Banaga and his wife Rosana were born in the Philippines. Before moving to the United States, Edgar graduated from an IPHC Bible College and had deep ministry roots within the nation and in the IPHC. While in the United States, the Banagas have been considered some of the most successful church planters in the USA \u2013 Pacific Western Conference. The Banagas then moved back to the Philippines as World Missions Missionaries in 2024 with a bold vision to plant churches and expand the Kingdom of God beyond current borders.<\/p>\n

There is currently an IPHC ministry presence in seven countries within the Indo-Pacific.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis (Banaga\u2019s) contacts and vision for the 16 countries that we do not have a ministry presence in will expedite our moving forward quickly if we can provide him with the necessary resources,\u201d Gardner said.<\/p>\n

Missionary Christopher Dulap, the new Regional Director of the Caribbean and West Indies, with his wife Alicia and daughter Everleigh.<\/p><\/div>\n

Christopher Dunlap and his wife Alicia first served as WMM Missionaries in Kenya before hearing the Lord\u2019s call and transitioning to the Dominican Republic in 2023. Along with their daughter Everleigh, born in Oct. 2024, the Dunlaps believe that through training, discipleship, and relationship building, they will see ministers within the region rise up to help fulfill the Great Commission in the countries still unreached or without an IPHC ministry presence.<\/p>\n

There is currently an IPHC ministry presence in six countries within the Caribbean and West Indies, and 25 countries with no IPHC ministry presence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a burgeoning harvest field that is ripe with opportunity,\u201d Gardner said. \u201cChristopher and Alicia Dunlap are multi-talented\/gifted. This region will be well served by their leadership for many years to come, Lord willing.\u201d<\/p>\n

World Missions also recognizes the service of Steve Cofer and Bryan Nix who have served the Caribbean and West Indies and the Indo-Pacific as Interim Regional Directors, respectively. SEMBRANDO Y CEGANDO EN CAMBOYA<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\nCamboya se encuentra entre los pa\u00edses m\u00e1s pobres de Asia, tanto material como espiritualmente. Han pasado cuarenta a\u00f1os desde que Pol Pot y su Khmer Rouge mataron a m\u00e1s de dos millones de personas en un intento de establecer una utop\u00eda agraria comunista, pero el legado de esos a\u00f1os del holocausto todav\u00eda se puede observar en una grave falta de infraestructura, educaci\u00f3n, oportunidades y esperanza. Menos del 1% de los camboyanos conocen a Jesucristo como Se\u00f1or y Salvador.\r\n\r\nEn septiembre, Russell ayud\u00f3 a organizar y dirigir un equipo de ministerio a Camboya para realizar una serie de cl\u00ednicas m\u00e9dicas en varias aldeas. Los miembros del equipo proced\u00edan de Carolina del Norte, Carolina del Sur, Georgia, Jap\u00f3n y Filipinas.\r\n\r\nLas condiciones eran a menudo r\u00fasticas ya que llev\u00e1bamos a cabo cl\u00ednicas en las iglesias de las aldeas. En un lugar, los funcionarios locales nos obligaron a cerrar. El gobierno budista autoritario vigila de cerca y en ocasiones restringe las actividades de los cristianos.\r\n\r\nEn otras aldeas, las autoridades enviaron polic\u00edas y m\u00e9dicos locales para observarnos, pero estos se fueron impresionados por la experiencia y la amabilidad de nuestro equipo. \u00a1Incluso se unieron al trabajo y nos invitaron a volver!\r\n\r\nLas madres j\u00f3venes estaban agradecidas de recibir vitaminas y medicamentos para las enfermedades de sus hijos, mientras que los ancianos estaban encantados de recibir anteojos para leer. Adem\u00e1s de ofrecer atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica b\u00e1sica y palabras de esperanza y aliento, los miembros del equipo tambi\u00e9n oraron por los pacientes que buscaron su ayuda. \u00a1La oraci\u00f3n es la mejor medicina de todas!\r\n\r\nJunto con el personal m\u00e9dico, tuvimos la bendici\u00f3n de tener un contingente de j\u00f3venes sobresalientes para ministrar a los ni\u00f1os en cada lugar. \u00a1Estamos orgullosos de decir que nuestro nieto Alex fue parte de este din\u00e1mico equipo!\r\n\r\nLos ni\u00f1os disfrutaron jugando juegos al aire libre, haciendo manualidades, escuchando historias b\u00edblicas, aprendiendo canciones del evangelio y \u00a1simplemente divirti\u00e9ndose! Lo mejor de todo es que los ni\u00f1os aprendieron a orarle a Jes\u00fas y tuvieron la oportunidad de ofrecerle sus vidas.\r\n\r\nEn a\u00f1os pasados, hemos invertido tiempo, esfuerzo y financiamiento en viajes similares, ayudando a trabajos pioneros y cavando pozos para aldeas. En este viaje, nos complaci\u00f3 especialmente ver el fruto de estas inversiones en la forma de florecer nuevas iglesias.\r\n

PUNTOS PARA LA ORACI\u00d3N<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\u2022 Ore para que las iglesias en Camboya no sean oprimidas y restringidas en sus actividades, sino que tengan libertad para adorar y difundir el evangelio.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Nuestras iglesias est\u00e1n ayudando a los j\u00f3venes en sus comunidades al ense\u00f1ar ingl\u00e9s y ofrecer capacitaci\u00f3n en computaci\u00f3n. Ore para que los j\u00f3venes est\u00e9n equipados para servir al Se\u00f1or y traer prosperidad a su naci\u00f3n.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Ore por el misionero que lidera nuestro trabajo en Camboya, el Rev. Merlen Lamanilao de Filipinas. Ore por su apoyo financiero y por su hija adolescente que pronto se graduar\u00e1 de la escuela secundaria.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Ore por los pr\u00f3ximos viajes a Tailandia y Nepal, por viajes seguros y un ministerio eficaz.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Nuestro apoyo financiero ha disminuido, lo que ha obstaculizado nuestra capacidad para viajar y ministrar.
