We are grateful for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support as we continue <\/span>serving in the Mediterranean Region. Your partnership helps us share the hope <\/span>of Christ, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen ministry efforts among <\/span>communities where there are many opportunities for Gospel witness. In this season, we <\/span>are especially thankful for the open doors God is providing through local relationships, <\/span>ministry conversations, and opportunities to encourage believers and leaders across <\/span>the region. We continue to ask the Lord for wisdom, protection, and fruitfulness as we <\/span>serve in a culturally diverse and spiritually significant part of the world.<\/span><\/div>\n

MINISTRY UPDATE: North Africa<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

In April, I (Linwood) was traveling with a pastor in one of the North African countries <\/span>of the region. We visited 4 house churches in a single 16-hour Sunday, driving more <\/span>than 300 miles. The spiritual environment there is hostile to the practice of Biblical <\/span>Christianity. Legal protections for Christians, such as the right to assemble and <\/span>worship publicly, do not exist. Despite the dangers of police action, the Church is <\/span>growing. The pastor explained to me, \u201cLin, we must never accept the position that we <\/span>are criminals because we worship Jesus. We are not criminals, we are Christians.\u201d In <\/span>every meeting, the presence of God was very strong.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Just a month earlier, I had a similarly powerful experience in another part of northern <\/span>Africa, where we ordained our first IPHC pastor in that country. She leads one of the <\/span>27 houses of prayer we partner with. The same week, we opened Project CReA in a <\/span>nearby city. Project CReA is an arts-based cultural center, similar to the coffee house <\/span>model used by the IPHC.<\/span><\/div>\n

HOUSES OF REFUGE, HOUSES OF PRAYER & HOUSE CHURCHES<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
One of the disciples we work with, a young woman, came under pressure to marry an <\/span>older man, a non-believer or she would be exiled from her family and cast out of the <\/span>family home. We were able to provide her with a \u201chouse of refuge\u201d, where she could <\/span>live and be safe. This became the 27th house of prayer in the network. Three of these <\/span>houses of prayer have now grown into house churches in this nation. <\/span>I have not specified the names of our friends or the cities and nations where we work <\/span>in North Africa for security reasons. There are many challenges, even dangers, surrounding this ministry. Even so, we <\/span>are especially encouraged by the growing connections being made across communities where spiritual conversations <\/span>are taking place and where people are searching for truth, peace, and lasting hope. Please continue praying that these <\/span>connections will become fruitful ministry relationships and that the Lord will guide each step forward.<\/span><\/div>\n

Saludos a ustedes en el poderoso nombre de Jesucristo nuestro Se\u00f1or y Salvador. S\u00e9 que has estado en cuarentena durante mucho tiempo debido a COVID19. Mi oraci\u00f3n ha sido para que Dios Todopoderoso te proteja y te mantenga seguro y fuerte. <\/p>

EL PROGRESO DEL TRABAJO EN EL CAMPO DE LA MISI\u00d3N<\/span> <\/h3>

He supervisado el trabajo de perforar un pozo en una de nuestras iglesias de PH en una comunidad llamada Mvumi. Esta iglesia est\u00e1 en una comunidad donde el agua es un bien escaso. Normalmente compran agua en cubos. Estaban muy contentos y agradecidos por el agua limpia. Gracias, Rev. Lloyd Ackerman, y los santos de la Unidad Christian Fellowship Church por apoyar este proyecto. <\/p>

La iglesia de Mvumi no ten\u00eda paredes cuando Mrema se fue a su casa, pero comenzamos los trabajos de construcci\u00f3n en febrero, y ahora las paredes est\u00e1n levantadas. \u00a1Gloria a Dios!
