most heavily; high death tolls tend to be centered in low-to-middle income countries without infrastructure to protect and respond to events. When natural disasters strike, People to People acts quickly to raise awareness of the need at hand and kick starts fund raising efforts. Through Disaster Relief, PTP is able to channel financial contributions from churches and individuals around the world and is responsible for getting help to the field. Immediately following a disaster is when getting life saving necessities to the effected people is absolutely crucial. They recall immediately seeing dust rise all around them and feared for the lives of their friends and families. The death count climbed from the estimated 7,000 to over 9,000 people and affected over 4 districts. People to People was able to respond by assessing damage with local leaders. Through this the people of Nepal saw that God is real, His love is abundant and as believers we care because we are called to help one another.
