Remembering Bishop Wayne Hicks of the CHC

Our sister denomination, the Congregational Holiness Church, mourns the loss of her General Superintendent, Wayne Hicks.

Bishop L. Wayne Hicks, 74 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 following an extended illness. Details about his service are below.
 
“Bishop Wayne Hicks was a friend and fellow servant of Jesus Christ," said Doug Beacham., presiding bishop of the IPHC. "He faithfully served the Lord as a pastor and denominational leader of the Congregational Holiness Church. As a graduate of Emmanuel College, he was well known to many in the IPHC. Our prayers are with his family and with our sister denomination."
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Bobby Griffin, Rev. Ronald Wilson, Rev. Nick Dalton and Rev. Daren Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in the Mausoleum with Rev. John Belangia officiating. The family will receive friends at New Haven Congregational Holiness Church on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
 
Bishop Hicks served four different offices of the General Executive Board of the Congregational Holiness Church; with the final being Bishop of the denomination.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Foreign Missions Department at the Congregational Holiness Church or his daughter and son in laws ministry in Uganda, Mavuno Ministries Inc., P.O. Box 3421, Gainesville, GA 30503
