As we have reflected on the theme of Arise Together, the words of John 14:31 have become increasingly important. These words come just after the Last Supper, which began with an extraordinary act of humility: Jesus' washing the disciples feet.

We commissioned artist Jonathan Shirey to commemorate this theme and this General Conference with a painting. You can see the full painting below. The original will be displayed at General Conference, and Jonathan has agreed to offer a limited edition of signed prints for purchase during a pre-sale period. See his statement about the painting and the limited pre-sale below.

From Jonathan:

"I'm so very honored and pleased to be able to paint and produce a work of art for the 29th General Conference of the IPHC. Thank you for appreciating beauty and creative expressions of our faith.

Jesus' life was full of his compassion and kindness shown through His miracles, His teaching, and His prayers. In recent years, I have been attracted to His humility. It is equally miraculous that Christ, incarnated as Yeshua, would wash the feet of His disciples. I love Him.  This painting, Jesus Rose, came from a place of adoration and devotion of my King, Jesus, for His humility.

It is from this place that I painted Jesus Rose. When we think of the phrase we usually associate it with His resurrection. However, in John 13:3-5, we find: "Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to Go, rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around them."

I'm please to offer this pre-sale for limited edition prints of this painting. Each print is hand signed and numbered by the artist and will be shipped following the conclusion of the 29th General Conference.

The image is full sized at 18" by 14" with a 1" white border. It is produced using the highest quality, archival materials.

This is a limited release pre-sale from June 22nd to July 1st, 2022. At the conclusion of the sale, the edition size will be fixed. To guarantee a copy for your home or work space, I encourage you to order now.

I am also pleased to offer a discount of $5 on the cost of the print to those purchasing through the pre-sale. To redeem this discount, enter "GENCON22" when checking out."

We hope you will consider purchasing a print of Jesus Rose for your home or church. Not only is it a beautiful work of art in its own right, but it also beautifully illustrates the spirit of God's urgent call to the IPHC to Arise Together.

How can we pray with you?
