NW Latin Annual Conference

I was honored to preside over the 2024 NW Latin Annual Conference on Saturday, April 13th at the Christian Reformed Church in Sunnyside, Washington. There were over 350 in attendance for the conference session and the evening worship service.

The annual conference was called to order promptly at 1:30 p.m. Bishop Bill Terry recognized theconference leadership, extended greetings from Presiding Bishop A.D. Beacham, Jr., and expressedappreciation to the pastors, ministers, local church congregants, and guests in attendance.

Bishop Terry presented the Arise to Mission Training, Arise in Prayer, and Arise 2033 to the conferencebody. The IPHC vision and mission were well received by the conference constituents. There wasexcitement in the house as the conference was challenged to embrace and commit to the future in theInternational Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The agenda called for the report of the conference superintendent, finances, and the work of the conference examining committee.

1. Bishop Eleuterio Prieto presented his report highlighting several areas where he expressed hisappreciation to the conference.

a. Bishop Prieto thanked the conference for their support during the time of his wife Francesca’s health challenges and the passing of their precious son, Bo. This was a very moving moment in the conference session with tears flowing.

b. Bishop Prieto announced six new churches in the conference and recognized and introduced the pastors to the conference body.

c. Bishop Prieto announced that the conference now has a presence in five states, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.

d. Bishop Prieto expressed his love for the conference, thanked his conference leadership team, and challenged the pastors and ministers to church growth and church planting.

2. Pastor Jesus Arredondo, Conference Treasurer, presented the financial report. The conference is in a good season of increase with growth in the area of new ministers and new churches. The financial report reflected a healthy balance of funds in the conference accounts. As I personally reviewed the report, I noted to the conference body the top two-line items of expenditures for the past year were for Evangelism and Prayer. The conference approved the report with excitement and expressed appreciation to Pastor Jesus Arredondo.

3. Pastor Gabriel Ute presented the examining committee report that consisted of 14 receiving a local church minister’s license, 3 receiving a minister’s license and 2 candidates for ordination. Theconference body was energized with the credentialing of the local and conference ministers. Theconference executive council assisted Bishop Terry with the ordination ceremony. There was awonderful presence of the Holy Spirit during the ordination service and a sense of genuine unityamong the conference leadership, pastors, ministers, and churches.

The conference session concluded with announcements and encouragement by Bishop Eleuterio Prieto.With the agenda satisfied, Bishop Terry adjourned the 2024 NW Latin Annual Conference at 3:45 p.m.
