The IPHC is committed to caring for ministers and their families to the best of our abilities. One of the many ways we provide that care is through prayer. With this in mind, Clergy Development and the ARISE IN PRAYER Team are launching a prayer hotline for ministers and their families on May 1, 2024. This toll-free prayer line, 844-MINPRAY (844-646-7729), will be available Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm EST. There are English and Spanish speaking prayer partners who will answer the calls. These team members have been trained in praying Scripture and are committed to taking the needs of our ministers and their families to the Father. Steve Ely, Director of Clergy Development, shared: “We are delighted to offer this as another way to cover our ministers as they serve on the front lines! We simply want to make sure we are holding up their hands!” Garryt Bryant, ARISE IN PRAYER Coordinator, also expressed his excitement: “ARISE IN PRAYER is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Clergy Development in this way! It is an honor to connect with and pray Scripture over our pastors and ministers. We are thrilled to give the gift of prayer!” Presiding Bishop A. D. Beacham, Jr. echoed Ely’s and Bryant’s sentiments: “I’m grateful IPHC utilizes numerous ways to support and encourage our ministry families. Even if this Prayer Hotline only helps one minister or family member, it will have been worth the effort.”
The prayer hotline isn’t the only way to seek out a prayer covering. In September of 2023, ARISE IN PRAYER launched the “Prayer Wall.” The Prayer Wall is a unique opportunity for people from around the world to post their prayer needs knowing that there are 40 Prayer Coaches committed to checking the Prayer Wall around the clock. After completing a short profile, an individual can post any prayer request or even pray for another poster. He or she can post in any language since the Prayer Wall is moderated by google and easily translates. Requests can be posted anonymously as well.
