Disaster Relief: Morocco
- People to People Ministries
Morocco –On Friday, September 8, a deathly earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8, classified as "strong", shook Morocco; the strongest quake to hit the area in nearly a century. News outlets have reported that there were around 2500 deaths due to the natural disaster, and first responders are still searching the wreckage for survivors.
IPHC Regional Director for the Mediterranean, Linwood Berry, is working with an influential pastor in Morocco to find how we can best aid their community. Our goal, as of now, is to send donations to support around 200 families, dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake. The needs include clothes, bedding, shelter/tents, as well as food and medicine. All of these necessities are about $50 per family.
We ask that you'd consider giving towards our Disaster Relief Fund, to help aid those who were affected by the earthquake. Your donations take our lofty goals from words on a page to necessities in the hands of those who need them. We also ask that you'd keep the victims, as well as our oversees IPHC contacts who are working to help the community in your prayers as you go about your week.
