Did you know, by 2050, at least one in four people will likely live in a country affected by chronic or recurring fresh-water shortages? Or that 844 million people currently lack access to clean drinking water? That's over three times the population of the United States. For reference, it is more than one out of every 10 people on the planet!
Because of improper waste disposal, many water sources in developing countries are contaminated with parasites, chemicals, and diseases. As a result, communities ingest the water, which causes over 3.5 million deaths yearly.
Giving communities access to clean drinking water improves that community's overall quality of life. When People to People resources IPHC churches and missionaries to dig water wells, it allows communities to access clean drinking water for themselves, their livestock, and for the irrigation of crops. Suddenly, children become healthier and women don't have to travel as far for clean water. By caring for their physical needs, hearts become receptive to the love of Jesus.
Drilling may cost between $1,500 to over $10,000 depending on the location and type of well needed. Please help us give life to communities worldwide by donating to the PTP Water Wells project.
