What Is Woven:
Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery. Across the world, women and children are being forced into prostitution and forced labor. It is considered the fastest-growing industry worldwide and generates an estimated $99 billion annually. At this very moment, there are an estimated 24.9 million people trapped in forced labor and sex trafficking across the globe.
People to People has created the Woven fund to support IPHC Missionaries and National Leaders working to end trafficking and support those affected by this dark evil. Primarily, funds will be disbursed to support the ministry efforts of IPHC missionaries Matthew and Femke Helland. Matthew and Femke have a strong commitment to seeing others come to know Christ. They are at the very forefront of counter trafficking efforts in Amsterdam, where prostitution is legal.
Meet The Hellands:
Since 2005, Matthew and Femke Helland have been IPHC Missionaries to the Netherlands. Since 2017, Matthew and Femke have been helping those working in prostitution as well as victims of human trafficking. As a result of this outreach, a church, Iglesia Vida Nueva en Amsterdam, has been established. Every week, they continue to visit the windows in Amsterdam’s Red-Light District and hold a weekly church service there. There is no greater joy than seeing how lives can be changed, healed, and transformed through the love and power of Jesus.
What You Can Do:
Pray that we can help more individuals escape the destructive and violent negative spiral of sexual exploitation. Pray for freedom from those caught in this web of abuse. Tell others about this kind of ‘modern’ slavery and our mission to help victims of human trafficking and forced prostitution. Make a donation today so we can continue with outreach, building relationships and helping individuals escape the sex industry. Your donation will help men and woman in need!
