Bridges to Scotland!
Many of you may have already seen our electronic newsletter sent out earlier this month announcing our upcoming move to Scotland. We're excited, nervous, and a bit sad to leave friends here in South Wales. For 20 months we've sought the Lord on His timing and place when it came to our next step in the Celtic nations. We've prayed for open doors and divine connections in each place as we've traveled into Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. We're thankful to Todd and Stephanie Presley for welcoming us into South Wales, the outreaches of ELI Project, and into their own home when we first arrived in Wales. We pray for God's blessings on the Community of Hope church plant and ELI Project.
We've seen the Lord confirm our steps into Scotland. With this transition, our focus is:
• Evangelism.
• Planting a church which will plant churches.
• Establishing an IPHC ministry training center for the region which will train evangelists and pioneer church planters.
• Nurturing and networking strong relationships with existing ministries of other organisations.
Much like Wales, Scotland is a spiritual desert with dark strongholds, and perhaps a fiercer spirit of independence. We met a lady named Mairi (pictured left) who hugged us on our recent trip there and said, "Here's your Macedonian call". The life-giving Gospel is desperately needed.
The IPHC has never had any ministry presence in Scotland, placing it on the Arise 2033 list of priority nations. Now is the time!
The greater Aberdeen area is where we're searching for a rental house. Pray with us for a suitable home for our family which fits our budget.
Aberdeen is a 12-hour drive north of where we currently live, or seven and a half hours by train.
We don't see it all right now, or understand all the details, but we have heard the Lord say “Go”, so we must go.
We are so thankful for the support, encouragement, and prayers of Bishop Gardner, Missionary Care Director Steve Cofer, our Regional Director Harold Presley, the WMM Council, and Bishop John Agbenorto, Superintendent of the UK IPHC Conference.
Thank you to all the individuals, churches, pastors, missions’ directors, friends, and family for your faithful partnership in prayer and monthly financial giving. We couldn't do any of this without you.
We will have much more to share soon.
Blessings,
Samuel Joshua, Bethany, Isaac, Philip, and Lydia Bridges
