Disaster Relief Update: Burundi
- People to People Ministries
Last month, we sent out a Disaster Relief campaign to help the 40,000 Christian refugees who fled from the violence in the Congo and sought help from our IPHC churches in Burundi.
Because so many refugees arrived in so little time, local humanitarian organizations were unable to support the immediate needs of the people. So, People to People Ministries raised and sent $15,000 to the refugees in Burundi. We were able to distribute food, water, and other emergency supplies to a round 70 households. This shipment of supplies is enough to last them a month.
We praise God for his continued faithfulness and provision in this difficult season in Burundi. We want to say a huge thank you to our incredible donors who made all of this possible.
But the work is far from done.
At this moment, thousands of refugees are sleeping in tents in a local stadium and are preparing for a relocation next month. It is a time of massive anxiety for our Congolese brothers and sisters. We ask that you would continue to pray that God would keep these families in his shadow, that he would continue to be faithful and just to the people in Burundi, and that his provision would continue throughout the coming months.
Additionally, please consider donating to our Disaster Relief Fund by clicking the “give here” button below. We will be sending another shipment of supplies and food next month and need your help. Now is the time. Every dollar counts.
