Thank you for your love, prayers, and generous missionary support!
Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and enjoying the blessings and benefits of abiding in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jeannie and I thought it would be a good time to update you on our missions activities here in Europe.
While waiting for our Visas, we are staying in a small apartment right in the heart of Brussels, Belgium. Outside our door, hundreds of people from all over the world are passing by every day. This is truly an international city. Most people speak English as their second language, which provides us an opportunity to share the gospel without having to learn another language.
I have written a gospel tract called “The Bridge,” that we use as a tool in sharing the gospel. This tract, see photo, uses just three portions of scriptures: John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, and John 1:12-13 to clearly explain God’s plan of salvation. This tract has opened the door for me to speak to and pray for people to receive Christ. A few blocks from the apartment is a large park, called the Botanical
Gardens, where people go to relax and take in God’s creation. This setting has provided many opportunities to meet people and share the good news.
Our thanks to Bill and Gretchen Schwartz for helping us start our new term and making us feel at home in the Belgium Crosspoint Conference. We are making many new friends as we participate in weekly services. Also, our thanks to our regional director, Harold Presley, for his oversight and spiritual direction for our new work here - evangelism and church planting in the German region of Belgium.
Please join us in praying:
• That many people will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior
• For favor with government officials in granting Visas
• That God will raise up a solid core group of believers to help in planting a new church
FROM JEANNIE ~ Ministry to the Women in the Red Light District
Prostitution on the streets of Berlin looks quite different than here in Belgium. I am now learning new dynamics of reaching out to the women behind the windows. My location may change but meeting the women, finding out what their needs are, praying for them, as well as offering healing, hope, and freedom in Christ Jesus remains the same, wherever I might be.
Prayer requests:
• Pray that the Lord will raise up a team of women for the new outreach in Aachen.
• I was asked to help a small group of Bulgarian women establish an outreach to the women in the Brussels red light district. A high percentage of the prostituted women in Western Europe are from Bulgaria. Pray this will happen!
As some of you already know, there continues to be long delays in receiving Belgium missionary Visas. Because of this, it was recommended that we live near the border in Germany and reactivate our German visa status. We have found an apartment to rent in Aachen, and we will move in on August 1. We will live five miles from the Belgian border.
Our new address will be: McClungs, Heidchen 14a, 52076 Aachen, GERMANY
Our prayer for you ~ “The Lord bless you and keep you: the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
“Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory and with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen!” (Jude 24-25)
Have a blessed day in Christ
