The Pitti Report
by Daniel & Rocio Pitti
FEBRUARY
We visited Honduras in order to continue with two existing projects. The first was starting the 2nd floor of the Feeding Program Building, and the second was installing windows, rails, and a canopy on top of the stairway, and to stucco the outside of the building. We were also able to collect information about the children involved with People to People Ministries.
Daniel had the privilege to officiate the conference elections in Guatemala. It was a great conference meeting led by the superintendent, Atilio Chavez.
APRIL
The Heartland conference, which is headed by Pastor Terry Lowder of Oklahoma City, OK, sent a group to Costa Rica to work on the house of the mission, where we live. They did a magnificent job repairing the ceiling and painting the interior, exterior, and bathrooms. We would like to say thank you very much for all of their hard work; we greatly appreciate it!
MAY
We were blessed to be a part of the 5th Annual Global Conference, which was hosted in Hong Kong. We had a wonderful time of fellowship with leaders from all over the world. One of the most interesting parts was experiencing the Asian cuisine.
Rocio’s ministry in Costa Rica began in one of the poorest churches in a small area called Pava, where the majority of the people are Nicaraguan. This church is located in a very dangerous area, due to gangs and drug activity, but this is where God sent us. Rocio went to help this pastor who lives above the church, where the walls are falling down, literally. This pastor works six days a week to support his family. He was praying to God for someone to help him preach because he had no time due to his job he couldn’t afford to lose- and that is when I called him. He told me God answered his prayer so I began to work with this church by preaching, visiting the members in their homes, and praying for them.
JULY
We returned to Honduras and hosted a team from West Virginia led by Brandon Hay. They came to finish building a church and a parsonage, and teach VBS, which was led by Christy Hay. The children enjoyed themselves and loved the lessons. The team also brought gifts for the pastor’s family. We had a medical clinic that saw about 800 patients and distributed medicine. We want to thank pastor Travis Lowe and Luigi DeBoni for making this clinic possible!
Rocio visited the church in Tierra Amarilla (Phillip Gschwend built this church a few years ago) and had the opportunity to preach and have communion with Pastor Reyna and members of the church. Rocio also preached in El Pantano in Yoro, Pastor Javier Cruz’s church. God is doing great things in Honduras, as well as all of Central America, and we are blessed to be a part of it.
We ask that you continue to pray that God’s will be done in Central America. If you feel called to support us or one of the many projects that are mentioned in this newsletter through a monetary donation, please feel free to contact us by email at DPitti@iphc.org.
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21
