On December 4, 2023, Judith and I were privileged to host the dedication of the Jackie Hess Memorial IPHC National Headquarters Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal. What a wonderful time of celebration and fellowship! Several pastors and leaders toured the building for the first time and were in awe of God’s faithfulness.

The building houses the Assistant IPHC National Director, Ashok Lama, and his family, a training facility (two large areas), an office, guest quarters, and a coffee shop for pastors and visitors. We are grateful to everyone who prayed, gave, and participated in any way to see our vision and dream come to fruition.

For this special event, we were honored to have our World Mission Ministries Director, Bishop Talmadge Gardner (USA); Continental Asia Regional Director, Russell Board (Japan); People to People Coordinator for Continental Asia and Indo-Pacific Regions, Rev. Deborah Crook; and Marlene Soriano (both from the Philippines).

Following the dedication, Bishop Gardner presented Arise 2033 to over 225 pastors and leaders. There was a sense of anticipation and excitement present throughout the room.
While everyone was together, Deborah, Marlene, and Judith hosted a women’s prayer meeting in a local IPHC church located in the middle of a predominantly Hindu worship center. This church is a beacon of light and hope to the community and surrounding area.

Two days before the event, Judith fell down some stairs and, as we found out later, broke three pelvic bones. She has a long six-month recovery ahead of her; however, she is starting to get around a little better each day. Thank you to everyone who knew and has been praying for her.

The ongoing plans and prayer points for this year include traveling to host church planting and discipleship training in various locations and presenting Arise 2033 to our pastors and church leaders. As we look to the year ahead, we continue our ongoing disaster relief for earthquake and flood victims, PTP education assistance for pastors’ children, working to train IPHC leadership, and licensing trained ministers.
