OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.—World Missions Ministries, in correlation with its six Arise 2033 strategies for Kingdom expansion (1. prayer, 2. evangelism or winning the lost, 3. discipling believers, 4. planting churches, 5. targeting the 7,248 unreached or unengaged ethnic groups in the world, and 6. changing a paradigm by challenging nations to become sending as opposed to receiving), is placing an emphasis on hosting international Arise in Prayer events to help train, encourage, and activate the global Church in a fresh way.
Arise in Prayer (AIP) is the IPHC prayer ministry that was designed to complement General Superintendent Bishop A.D. Beacham's Arise 2033 Vision. As WMM diligently works to meet the ARISE 2033 goals of expanding into 50 new nations and planting 5,000 new churches (a goal already realized according to the 2024 Statistical Report) by 2033, it recognizes prayer as the engine of ministry increase.
“While WMM already had a training emphasis focused on prayer as a foundational part of our Great Commission Equipping Conference Training (GCEC), I wanted the global IPHC church family to be exposed to the AIP training that Dr. Doug Small introduced to our U.S. pastors and churches,” World Missions Executive Director Bishop Talmadge Gardner said.
Bishop Gardner took the first step in this strategic shift in 2024 by appointing Bishop Ray Boggs, who has been a part of the Arise in Prayer U.S. lead team since its inception, as WMM’s AIP liaison. Recently, according to Bishop Gardner, Bishop Manuel Pate made himself available to travel on a more permanent basis, enabling WMM to make AIP training available globally by invitation of WMM’s 13 Regional Directors.
“Lord, teach us to pray,” Bishop Boggs said of the prayer that leads all Arise in Prayer meetings. “At the heart of AIP is the commitment to equip pastors and leaders to shape their congregations into houses of prayer for all nations. Through relational prayer experiences, dynamic prayer conferences, and focused training for prayer facilitators, we provide practical tools and spiritual support for churches.”
Now, with Bishop Pate’s increased ability to take these events to the nations, WMM is believing for an even greater equipping for the global IPHC family.
“Through three-day Prayer Summits and other prayer training events, pastors and their key leaders encounter God in a transformational prayer experience and are equipped to begin the journey of transforming their churches into houses of prayer for all nations,” Bishop Pate said. “Ongoing training and help are provided to assist pastors and churches on this journey. Prayer Summit facilitators are also trained to assist in leading these Prayer Summits. It is evident today that God is calling his global Church to prayer like never before, and Arise in Prayer seeks to assist IPHC pastors and churches to answer this call.”
To help facilitate this goal, WMM has created an Arise in Prayer Giving Project to assist with travel and event costs.
